Firefox or IE I've been using IE for ever, lately I've been hearing a lot about Firefox, and thought I might try it, what are the main advantages of Firefox, over IE? What do you prefer Firefox or IE? Thanks.

The main advantage of IE over Firefox is that it loads websites and javascript way more faster than IE.Also, it supports many customize features, like add-ons, etc.
In the latest version of IE 8, it improves a lot but the speed is too slow.
Actually, i use Firefox and it is great.

You can switch to Mozilla Firefox. Because it is more faster, secure and customizable.

IE has around two to three hundred add ons. But FireFox has thousands of add-ons.

Installation/Uninstallation is very easier and will take no time when compared to IE

Virus attacks are very less.

If you are entering a non trusted site, say for example if there is any fradulent web sites, FireFox will inform you.

You can change theme, you can add mail notifiers and much more.

If you tried with Firefox, then you won't turn to IE.

So, you can switch to Mozilla FireFox. If you have any queries or anything you can ask me.

Cheers!!!...

The user interface on the two browser is very similar.

Firefox is considered 'more powerful' because is more customisable, and you can download many extensions, that are plugins with many functions.

Firefox suffer less from virus problem, as there are more viruses designed to attack IE, however majority of viruses do not make any difference between IE, Firefox, Opera etc.

Internet explorer is more unstable and crashes more easily.

Sometimes new plugins (extension) can make Firefox slower.

Sometimes new download updates can make IE slower.

The two browsers are both good, and both work fine on most situation. I personally use Firefox, as it gives me less troubles with Windows.

My suggestion is : download and install Firefox, if you do not like it, then switch back to IE.

You can use both browsers at the same time.

I keep getting a message that "a problem caused the program to stop working properly. Windows will close program and notify you if solution is found." Its Internet Explorer and no solution has come!

Hi
To be quite honest I have found that this happens quite a lot with IE. If you want or need to continue using IE, then make sure that you have the most up-to-date version by checking with the MS website here:
Internet Explorer
and if you are not fully up-to-date, download and install the latest version for your Windows version.
Alternatively you could use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, both of which are more stable than IE. If you go to the google search homepage, there is a link to download chrome there and you can download Firefox from here:
Download Firefox Free Web Browser
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

My computer will not let me open up firefox. I am thinking i cleared something by accident inside the brain. I had it on hear for 2 years. I hate IE. it is running my computer so slow.

Firefox is far faster and easier to use than IE.
Just download a fresh version from Mozilla, all your settings will stay with you. Got to be easier than trying to find hidden or lost files!
That's what I like about Firefox, it is user friendly and doesn't take over ones system.

Errors on webpage I can't open the site

The reason is that you are using Internet Explorer. The best thing you can do to enjoy the Web more and get a lot less viruses, is to not use Internet Explorer.

Install Opera or Firefox and the site should load without issues. I have been using Opera for years and it is the best browser for me, but Firefox has the advantage of being more extendable, there are lots of cool things it can do. Either one is much better than IE.

Error message when closing IE

Try Mozilla Firefox and see if the same thing happens. lol.. IE is a white elephant in general. You might need to go to add/remove programs and uninstall IE from the windows components section and reinstall it possibly, personally though I would not re-install IE after removing it though, lol. As urban dictionary defines Internet Explorer - a perfect program for downloading Mozilla Firefox, lol. Good Luck!

Firefox Problems with Vista

I have had the same problem with Firefox and also remembering my login information in Vista. The XP operating system is fine the problem is only with Microsoft's Vista operating system. It could have something to do with Vista's security setup, either that or Microsoft is just kicking the competition around? Actually it's probably a little bit of both those reasons.

The only way I have been able to correct the problem is to download the IE Tab add-on. It allows you to set up a tab to open with the IE engine embedded. If you have a site that is giving you login problems, when it is open select the tools button. In the dropdown box select the IE Tab Options. The problem web site should be highlighted in the pop-up display box. Select the add button to the right and it will transfer the web site to the list of sites that you want to open with the IE operating engine.

Now that web site will always open under the IE operating engine when you start up Firefox. After you login to that web site if you go back to the tools button and select options again, you can save all opened tabs as your home page. Now when you start up Firefox you will still have all the advantages of Firefox and those hard to login web sites will automatically load and sign you in the same as they did before.

Someday Microsoft will probably stop teasing Firefox and let them in on what they have to do to get around this obstacle, but then again maybe not.

IE7 or Firefox

Hi there
Why use Firefox?

IE7 is a very heavy application. It uses up a lot of your available memory, it is heavely integrated with other Microsoft features and to be brutally honest. Web designers and developers hate it.

Firefox has more third party addons and features. It is lighter, quicker and displays websites like the designer wished them to be displayed.

The only real compition to Firefox is Goggle Chrome. Which is very similar to Firefox but but fully integrated with all Goggle apps and is really fast.

My advice. Dump EI7
