You need to get that oil out of there right away, especially if it has a burnt smell. Change the filter and gasket at the same time and pay attention to what comes out of the oil pan when you do this. Filings in the trans oil are normal wear and tear but pieces aren't. Add a bottle of a trans additive to extend life, I've had good luck with Lucas. If the trans is still acting up you will have to start looking for a replacement although you can add a second bottle of Lucas, if that is what you use, to help get you by until you can repair properly. Hope this helps.
You are going to need to have someone actually go underneath to locate the noise source. As you just found out, guessing won't work. Doing a trans service and adding Lucas was not a bad thing though, likely you were due for service anyhow. and, the Lucas additive is the only stuff I have seen that actually has a positive effect on trans operation. Hopefully, the noise you hear is something simple like a loose exhaust shield. If not ask and I'll try to help if you need it. good luck
what it means is it is slipping. now the first thing you can do is drop the oil out of it and change the filter. add lucas trans additive and go for a couple of days if the problem goes away as often times it does it's because the valve body inside the trans is gummed up, and the lucas removes this. if the problem persists it could be either a defective engine speed sensor or a faulty trans control module. i would take it to a shop and have them hook a scan tool to it. it will show which one is the fault. please rate this.
