Have you tried to go into the "My Computer" section while the sansa is plugged in and turned on. right click so the drop down menu comes down on the sansa device and then click on format drive?
If you haven't it's perfectly safe and it will get the job done.

I also have an e250. You have probably figured it out by now, but if you have not, it is an easy fix. While the song you want deleted is playing, just press the menu button at the bottom of the ring. The menu will come up, then scroll down to the bottom and therewill be the option to "Delete This Song". Press Delete and you will be prompted to select YES or NO. Choose yes and song will be deleted. The next song on the list will be qued but will be in PAUSED mode. You can also hook up to your computer and delete songs from the song menu page. Hope this helped.
To delete songs from your device follow the steps below You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode..to change to MSC go under menu settings and usb mode..then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there. Either under sync panel in your windowsmedia player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete. Hope this helps
P.S.Please rate accordingly... Thank You Computerrep
Every time I go to a MP3 on my "MP3 Player" it freezes
the tip about holding the power botton for like 15 seconds works but I still cant get it to play MP3 without freezing
first you have to turn your sansa on and go to the setting and then you have to go to usb mode and ptu it on "mtp"
then plug it back up to your computer and this time when you plug it up the computer will start detecting it and when add song use your windows media player
You can manually delete the music thru My Computer. Just click on the device name, and open the Music folder.
If you dont have a Music folder, you need to enable hidden files and folders on your computer.
Best of Luck.
Chances are that you are using windows xp. open up your sansa folder to where it says pictuer, movies, ect. look at the picture to see what to do. In your player folder click tools --> folder options --> View. Under hidden files and folders click 'show hidden files and folders, click ok. The music folder would now show up where the videos and pictures are. Simply open the music folder and delete the ones you do not want. By default the songs are sorted by artist --> album --> song.
thanks for your help i will try that and see how i go if not i'll ask if theres anything else i can try thanks again karmen
