Question about Frigidaire 24 in. FDB679GF Built-in Dishwasher

Won't start, can't change wash selections

My dishwasher is stuck on the normal wash selection, but will not start when you push the start button. The normal wash button is lit up, so I assume it has power, but I cannot change the selection to another option. there is nothing in the digital read-out (how much time is left on the cycle, CL, etc.) Only the normal wash button is lit. I do not know the exact model number.

Hi there,

can you tell me if you can hear the motor running? if not
did you trip the house breaker? if not
can you open the door? if not
it's the door latch; if yes
is there water on the bottom of the dishwasher? if yes
you are not draining and the dishwasher lost power; if not
the timer is not advancing to the next cycle

let me know.

After 3 seconds of reset (start), turn the dishwasher off, wait a few secconds, turn it on, and use the arrows to select the washing mode (try Auto, perhaps) and see if this solves your problem.

Brand New Whirlpool Dishwasher won't start, can't change program eiether
Make sure the dishwasher door is firmly closed, press and hold the start pause button for about 5 seconds, this will clear the cycle, The try selecting a wash cycle and push start.

Sometimes I have to push the cancel button on my Kitchenaid and start over and push the selection buttons again. and then push start. Don't know if this will help.

Hi just read your posting.The problem could be a faulty dispenser coil ,or the wires to it are faulty or the computer is faulty.Try selecting a normal eco wash and when you push the start button to start the machine hold the button in until the pre wash light turns off.This should make the dispenser activate straight after it fills.The only way to test which part is faulty is with an electrical meter.Have you or can you borrow one.If so then I can guide you step by step in finding the fault.please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you further.Looking forward to your reply.

Dishwasher not responding
we have a 4 yr. old built in dishwasher,model #665-15812,the lock-on light is blinking,and the wash and rinse lights are on,but if we push start ,it won't,and if we push the clear button,it won't clear,it's like it's stuck ....we've tried un-plugging,etc....any ideas,on what to do??? donnie-sue79

Intermittent problem, unable to select normal wash cycle/start
restart curcuit board sequence

push start hold down air dry and start until lights blink and machine starts then it should work normal

most dishwashers have an instruction booklet behind the botton panel that is nearest the floor you wll have to remove the panel it has a couple of screws. the booklet should be there unless installer took it.
If you omly replaced the front panel board then you may have to replace the circuit board inside the door. It works like a mother board in a computer. Good luck

there is no real way of checking the keypad. Not with a meter but if you push normal wash for example and it does not respond this usually means that you have a bad keypad

Flashing quick rinse light on panel
I had the same problem but I found someone wh said that there is a way to reset the dishwasher. I tried it and it has worked so far.

Here is what I did.
Push the Hi-temp and then push the Sani-rinse. Go back and forth multiple times on these two buttons. I found that after a handfull of pushes that a "1" came up on the display. I continued to keep rotating the two buttons and then a "2" came up on the display and the dishwater started it's "drain" phase. I then hit cancel to clear and then I selected the cycle I wanted. The washer started up just as normal at this point.

Fisher & Paykel Dishdrawers DD60dd. Why isn't the top drawer draining? I have tried everything on the internet and still there is water left in the bottom at the end of a cycle. Things tried 1 - removed motor and checked drain tube from filter to motor sump - pushed a length of wire through - 2. Swapped top motor for bottom motor - works in bottom draw ok 3 . Removed drain pipe and pushed a length of coax through - no blockage - 4, removed pipe from pump sump - there seems to be something about 12 inches from the end and needs a lot of pressure to blow water through. What does CL code mean? When I short the black wires together and leave the white wires separated for the door switch the error clears, I get a timer for the cycle, but nothing happens. When i short the black wires together and the white wires together for the door switch I get the CL code and nothing happens.
