It is possible that the memory card was damaged. This would be by coincidence. Just in case only the formatting is damaged you can try to format the memory card.

As far as reading the card is concerned, if the Mac has issues to read a PC format then it will not be able to read the card from your camera.

My Olympus c-740 tells me there are no photos, although the memory is full. It says it is full in the camera and in the computer. I need the photos, no the memory. Thanks!

There is memory built into the camera and additional memory card! Depends how the camera is set to save the photos either to the smaller built in memory or the larger memory card!

Is olympus xd -picture card, type m+ 2gb compatable with camera Fujifilm Finepix.

XD cards are now obsolete memory cards. The cards were developed by Olympus and Fujifilm and released during the summer of 2002. There is now an adapter that allows an SD card to be used in place of the XD card You need to remember that the capacity should not exceed 2 GB or the camera will not be able to accept it. As far as I know cameras accepting XD cards were last produced in 2007, I don't know what specific models however the camera specifications would show what type card it uses.

Xd memory card

A card access error may indicate that an xD-Picture Card memory card is in a write-protected condition. xD-Picture Card memory cards have a special protection feature to ensure that your pictures are kept safe. NOTE: During this condition, you can still use the printer for printing and saving photos from the xD-Picture Card to a secure location, such as the computer hard drive. To resolve this error, try the following:
  • Reinsert the xD-Picture Card memory card into your camera and turn on the camera. In most cases, the camera automatically makes the necessary changes.
  • Reformat the xD-Picture Card memory card. See the documentation that came with your camera for instructions on reformatting the memory card. Note that this process erases the pictures currently saved to your memory card. To save these pictures, transfer them to the computer before reformatting the memory card. Once you reformat the memory card, transfer those photos back to the memory card using the computer.

XD Picture Memory Cards

What is the advantage of a 1 gig over two 512meg cards: Usually the 1 gig will be priced lower than 2 512 cards. The 1 gig card will hold twice as many photos. That is about it. .................... Brand name has turned out to be a non-issue for almost all memory cards. They have to be made to a standard and they will all work. Olympus and Fujifilm came up with the xD card. And Sandisk is a trusted card maker. I believe that Olympus may have a stitch feature that is only available if you use the Olympus brand of card. A gimmick to sell more of their brand of cards. This is pretty much of a non issue too, as there are plenty of software programs that can do stitching for panorama photos.
