Is that true for both print and copy job ?
Where does the jam happen ?
I am thinking if it is at the paper pickup roller area just as the job starts to print and not midway while printing, check the paper quality; dirty pickup roller; clean cork pad and try job from another tray
I do not know this particular printer but several things might be wrong. Make sure all the paper handling sensors and rollers are clean. Check to see if the next sheet of paper is sticking to the first and blocking a sensor. Check to see if the paper is advancing properly. Sometimes the roller will spin but slips on the paper, if the printer senses that the paper is not advancing properly it will throw a paper jam code. Make sure you are using fresh, crisp paper and the holding tray is at least half full.
Jams in the Document Tray When a document jams or misfeeds in the Document Tray, CHECK 5100 are displayed on the LCD. When CHECK 5100 is displayed 1 Check if any paper is jammed. If jammed, make sure to take out all the jammed paper. 2 After taking out jammed paper, turn the fax off, then turn it back on with [ON/OFF]. Jams in the Multi-Purpose Tray If paper jams in the Multi-Purpose Tray, CLEAR PAPER JAM is displayed on the LCD. 1 Gently pull any jammed paper out of the fax as shown, then press [Stop]. Pull it gently in either direction. If you cannot pull the paper out, continue with the steps below. 2 Open the Printer Cover. 3 Gently remove the jammed paper inside the fax. 4 Press [Stop]. The fax returns to standby mode.
My printer is constantly getting jammed, spitting out blank sheets of paper in between every printed sheet, clicking and snapping, etc.
There are a few places to check for a jam - pull the paper drawer out and check there, take the toner cartridge out and you'll often find a sheet there that you cannot see from any other angle, open the little compartment at the back and check there and the usual paper sticking out of the output just enough to pull it out the rest of the way.
Good luck!
I'll be looking for a new printer this week though. I can't take the constant paper jams and sifting out the blank sheets when I'm printing 500+ statements a month.
Definitely NOT an office friendly machine!
Check solinoid transformers that controls opening and closing of paper handling trays. Check and clean sensors from in and out of paper path. Check and clean paper rollers or heat rollers for dust and paper remains pieces. Please determine when is the paper jams occurs. Hope this gives you hints.
Does the fault clear when you open/close? If it does you probably don't have a jam. Does the machine begin to try to make copies, then stop-if so it has probably failed to feed off the tray, hence the jam message. If this is the case, pull out the paper tray, check for obstructions, clean feed rollers and try again. Are there "skid marks on the paper(indicating the rolls have turned?) If so rolls could be dirty/worn. If no skid marks, can you determine if the rolls did in fact turn? Go from there
The paper pickup rollers are dirty and needs cleaning. take out trays and give it a wipe with damp cloth, if problem remains than need to replace the rollers
