Yellow light blinking on my Dell Inspiron one 19 and won't start up

I shut my computer down one night and the next morning I try to start it up and now the power light is blinking yellow and the computer won't boot up. I've replaced the motherboard and power supply and it is still doing the same thing.

My dell inspiron 2400 pc will not start up

If the power light doesn't come on at all, it could be the power supply is dead, or the power switch is defective.

Check to make sure the power cord and power supply cables are securely connected.

Here are some diagnostic tools for DELL computers.

My computer won't start up and is blinking yellow. How do I fix it?

An steady or Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Just to make sure that nothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

My GX520 was shut down as usual last night...I turned on this morning and I get nothing...just a little yellow/amber light blinking where it is normally green....help

Here is the info straight from Dell. looks like you have an internal power issue. You will most likely need to contact Dell directly for assistance, they are pretty good about giving support even if the system is no longer covered under warranty.

If the power light is blinking amber -
The computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.
  • Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location (if applicable).
  • Ensure that the processor power cable is securely connected to the system board.

Try running thed diagnostics on your computer by pressing the Fn+Power button.

If the diagostics doesn't come up or the system doesn't power up at all, then you need to replace the motherboard.

Dell inspiron 1521 won't turn on!

Try this: remove the battery and unplug the power, hold down the power button for 10 seconds, then plug the power back in, and try turn it on again. If this doesn't work, check the power plugin port, if anything in there is moving around, it might be broken and need to be repaired. Check for a local electronics or computer store for that. The only other problem I can think of is that the motherboard died, probably from over-heating. This usually requires a new laptop, or an equivalent price for a new motherboard. Good luck, I truly hope the first one works.
