Intermittent problem sometimes oven will work for several hours. Also sometimes receive F3 error code. Have replaced oven thermostat rode and all wiring looks fine
The model number isn't correct.check and send the model number again.if you changed the sensor this should take care of the f3 error code but the clock shouldn't go blank and oven stops.like i say your model number doesn't show up as a good number,if this machine has a fan in it you could have a bad fan motor, the fan cools off the electronics and if it isn't working the clock assy. can get hot, damage it and it will do this, also i've seen on some models there's a screen where the fan is and dust gets stuck on the screen and the fan can't blow any air,i'm just telling you what i've found before but it sounds like the clock assy. is heating up and shutting down,if there isn't a fan in your model it sounds like you have a bad clock assy.if you send the model number i can look it up for you.
As stated in the much appreciated solution provided by Sal DeAngelo the model number I provided does not seem to be good. Unfortunately, what I have supplied is exactly what is stamped into the metal tag that is riveted to the oven just inside the door. I tried to validate the model number also with no luck. The closest (I looked at a diagram and it sure seems to be the same range) I could find was JMP28GR1WH (no 0 in the model number compared to what is stamped on the range itself). There is a fan in the back of the oven but I have never heard it run other than when using the self cleaning function. So I guess it is looking like the oven control board? Is there a way to check the fan? Would hate to replace the control board only to burn it out again. Very appreciative thanks to Sal for his time and effort.
hi jeff,i looked up your machine, without being there it's hard to say what's happening to your machine,if you can read a wiring diagram and there is one with the machine, find out if there's a t-stat or something that could be bad that turns that fan on when it heats upor the fan could just come on when cleaning but i think it should come on even when cooking, you can check the fan motor with a meter to make sure it's good but it sounds like the electronics are heating up and shutting down and damaged the clock assy.also is the oven door closing tight,if not the heat from the oven can take out the clock assy. too.your clock is up front above the door.you can try a new board and see what happens or call someone in to take a look at it for you.i looked this up on a G.E. site Many GE range products use fans to cool down the internal components. Some GE ranges use fans to help cool an oven or range after self-cleaning. This fan or blower could come on during any operation.
The oven cooling fan for the electronic controls is controlled by a thermostat. The cooling fan may run throughout the entire bake cycle and continue even when the oven is off. This is considered normal operation. copy and paste http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_...
