!My printer works fine but doesn't print in color. I have checked all the ususal culprits and can't finnd anything wrong, HELP

Under Diagnostics run PQ Troubleshooting test.
Check to see if it's one color that is causing the marks.
Just because the cartridges are new, doesn't mean that they are good.
The same thing goes for the Transfer Unit (ITB)

Run the PQ test and try to isolate down to one cartridge.
If it's more than one cartridge, the ITB is probably the culprit.

Make sure that when you click print, you choose the right printer and that the right printer drivers are installed. If it doesn't work contact either Microsoft or HP customer service for help.

If an inkjet printer has not been used for some time and several print head cleaning has been done and it still does not print properly then the nozzles in the print head are blocked.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent nozzles blocking with dried ink.
You need to replace the print head to get the printer functioning again.
But these print heads are expensive to replace, it may be better to buy a better and a later model printer for not much more costs.

Ok I understand the printer says its full but are you saying your computer says no ink? or that it prints no yellow ink?

Ok assuming you mean that it prints no yellow ink, the culprit ususally means that the print head needs replacing! Call Canon with your model and you can buy the part for new print heads for your printer

The typical cause of not getting color from the PC (yet the test page prints is color) is the printer driver is setup to print in grayscale.

Check the settings from Control Panel, Printers. Right click on the printer icon and choose Properties. In the Advanced (or Setup) tab is an option for "Print In Grayscale".

If this is checked, then this would be the answer. Uncheck it, click Apply, then OK, and close the Printers window.

If this box is not checked, then you may not have the correct driver installed.

Doubled check the cartridge numbers and that they match what is on the printer. If no match get correct ones.

Try printing a manual self-test page:

1. Press and hold Cancel on the control panel.
2. While holding Cancel, press Start Copy Color.

The self-test report prints, containing the serial number and service ID.

This should tell you if it is a problem with the unit itself, or with communication between the unit and your computer.

Hi, the problem seems with the logic board inside the printer, are you in a position to open the printer and try some stunts, that is only if you have done it earlier.. let me know??

Have you checked that you are sending the print job using the correct paper tray on the printer? Check the properties of the printer to ensure you are. Check also that the printer is OK by running a test print from the printer and not through the PC. If I remember it's hold the green button for around 7-10 seconds, whilst powering on.
