Press the ink button on the control panel repeatedly. This will work if at least one cartridge is completely out. With the scanner unit open, then the first press of the ink button will move the cartridge carrier to line up the empty cartridge with an "empty cartridge" mark on the printer. Each subsequent press will cause the next empty cartridge to line up with the mark. Once all of the empty cartridges have been indicated, the next press of the ink button will bring the cartridges into the replacement position.

If you want to change a cartridge when none are empty, you need to enter the Epson Toolbox (with the printer in a Ready state - scanner unit closed, etc). Then use the software to set the printer to change the ink cartridges. When prompted by the software, open the scanner unit and follow the directions for changing the ink cartridges.

If the cartridge carrier isn't moving when you press the ink button, look for anything blocking the path of the carrier. Even small pieces of paper could stop the mechanism. Use a flashlight to check the corners. (You may want to unplug the printer and try moving the cartridge carrier by hand to check below it.) Some models have the cartridge carrier run on a plastic strip that can come out of the guide on the back. Move the strip back and up and down until it is repositioned.

I hope this helps.

How do I change the ink cartridge on an epson sx215

Here's how you change the ink cartridge:

1. press the index sheet button and the scan button at the same time,

2. You then get setup menu. use" >" to select "change ink cartidge".

3. The ink cartidge will move to the opening position. 4. Lift the grey plastic clip at the back, and it
will open towards you.

5. Then you can just pull it out.

Hope this helps

Replaced the ink in stylus sx 125 with genuine epson ink ... and now wont print at all

Perhaps try accessing the menu using the press the index sheet button and the scan button at the same time, you then get setup menu. use" >" to select "change ink cartidge". the ink cartidge carriage will move to the opening position. lift the grey plastic clip at the back, and it will open towards you. then pull out the ink by holding with thumb and first finger and rotating towards you. insert the ink again by pushing in and rotating away from you. close grey cover. now confirm ink replaced as per screen prompt. the machine will run the ink to the print head, takes a minute. then turn off and on and it 'should' work.

Where is the ink button on the epson stylus sx 200

Open the printer, Press the button below the power button (maint button) the carriage will move across to indicate which cartridge needs changing. Keep pressing until the carriage moves into the replacement position. After replacing the cart's make sure the lid "clicks" down fully and close the printer, then press the maint. button once more. The guides can be downloaded from Epson:

Epson SX200 Can't get the ink carrage to addopt change position

i had the same problem as this.

the manuel told me to put the ink in the printer before i had installed it, this however seems impossible.

instal your printer first. when it is instaled go to printer settings, then click on maintenance, then click on the option that says ink cartridge replacement. Follow the instructions and this will bring the cartridge to the change position!!

failing this you can unplug your printer quickly after you turn it on when the cartridges move, then you can manualy move into position. Not sure how good for your printer this is, but it works.

Newly replaced black ink cartridge still shows up ink supply empt

have you used the printer properties menu to recharge the ink? Just right click on the printer icon, choose properties, click on the Maintenance tab and click on the ink cartridge replacement. You have already replaced the cartridge so just click through to the end. The last thing it does is recharge it. I think this must be where it decides it has been replaced and is full.
