Dcc-1200 coffeemaker self clean light blinks

I have performed the self cleaning function several times in a row - using the vinegar/water solution. The slef clean light does go off - however, each time I brew a pot of coffee, it comes on again at the end of the brew cycle. Any help?

The brewing takes about 20 minutes and it gurgles like it is at the end of the brewing the whole time. The self clean light has come on several times and it has been cleaned several times with vinegar and DESCAL, a compound for descaling

You will be fine if f you do exactly what the Instruction Manual says regarding the self cleaning:

If the Self Clean light begins to flash when the coffeemaker is turned on, it is telling you that the calcium buildup is interfering with the functioning of your coffeemaker and the flavor of your coffee. To clean, fill the water reservoir

to capacity with a mixture of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water. Press the Self Clean button.

When the self clean light glows, turn the coffeemaker on by pressing the flip switch to ON. The Self Clean light will shine steadily.

The coffeemaker is now in Self Clean mode.

One cycle should be sufficient to adequately clean the coffeemaker. When the cycle is completed and the five beeps sound, the coffeemaker will shut off. Turn the coffeemaker ON to see if the Self Clean light continues to

flash. If it does, turn it to OFF and then repeat the cleaning procedure with a fresh solution of vinegar and water.

If the Self Clean light no longer flashes, turn the coffeemaker to OFF and then run one cycle of fresh cold water through the unit before using the unit again to brew coffee.

otes on the Self Clean Function

Pressing the Self Clean button cancels all other settings. If it is pressed accidentally, press it again to return the coffeemaker to all its previous settings. Pressing ON/OFF will also exit the Self Clean Mode and turn the

coffeemaker OFF.

Your Instruction Booklet:

It is likely that calcified deposits are gradually breaking away as you now use the coffee maker. Is your Self Clean light flashing? Instructions on decalcification and cleaningh begin on page 5 of your booklet.

To clean, fill the water reservoir to capacity with a mixture of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water. For your problem, let the vinegar solution sit in the reservoir for 30 minutes to an hour before beginning the cleaning cycle.

Press the Self Clean button. When the self clean light glows, turn the coffeemaker on by pressing the ON button. The self clean light will shine steadily. The coffeemaker is now in Self Clean mode. One cycle should be sufficient to adequately clean the coffeemaker. When the cycle is completed and the five beeps sound, the coffeemaker will shut off. Turn the coffeemaker ON to see if the Self Clean light continues to flash. If it does, turn it to OFF and then repeat the cleaning procedure with a fresh solution of vinegar and water.

If the Self Clean light no longer flashes, turn the coffeemaker to OFF and then run one cycle of fresh cold water through the unit before using the unit again to brew coffee.

If you continue to see debris, unfortnately you will have to repeat until clear.

Hi,
I just did the self clean function today. They need you to remove the rack supports from each side of the oven cavity. Simply pull up on them to remove. When I did this the message was not displayed and the slef clean function started. Hope that helps.

Clean light stays on,help me trouble shoot

Fill water reservoir with 1/3 carafe distilled white vinegar, 2/3 carafe water and hit the self-clean button - it will take about 35 mins to complete. When it is done, it will beep like it normally does when brewing regular coffee. Self-clean light should go off after this. If it doesn't, simply unplug the machine for 20 minutes or longer. The manual is available for your inspection on the Cuisinart website.
If your Cuisinart is one that is missing the Self-Clean function, just brew the vinegar and water like it is coffee by using the brew function.

Coffee not tasting good

To make the self-clean light go off, just unplug the coffeemaker for longer than 20 minutes. As far as not tasting right, did you try flushing the vinegar out of the coffeemaker using plain water, or water mixed with 1 tbsp lemon juice per cup? Also, get rid of your current charcoal water filter - after time, it will disintegrate, and your coffee will have a hint of charcoal.

Funny tasting coffee

Vinegar/water cleaning is a good idea, but it won't necessarilly solve funny-tasting coffee. First, replace your charcoal water filter - you can get the Cuisinart brand-name replacements at Lowe's, Bed/Bath/Beyond, or Williams-Sonoma in most areas.

To do the vinegar/water cleaning, just pour 1/3 caraffe distilled white vinegar and 2/3 caraffe water into the water reservoir and brew it like it was regular coffee - I would simply bypass the self-clean function if your Cuisinart has one. Repeat up to 3 times, using a fresh batch of vinegar each time.
(if you have the caraffe-less DCC-2000, then just pour in 4 cups vinegar and 6 cups water).

Then run a full cycle of water. Then run a combo of 12 tsp lemon juice and 12 cups water (or 10 tsp and 10 cups water) to improve the taste.

On your next batch of coffee, use bottled water just to rule out any possibility that your local water supply may be contributing to funny-tasting coffee.

Now your coffee should be tasting fine again.

I have a cuisinart Grind and Brew with a glass carafe - not pictured above. The self clean button keeps lighting up and I don't know how to run the clean cycle.

Fill the water reservoir with 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water - then press the self-clean button. If the water doesn't start going through after a minute or two, just turn the machine on like you were brewing coffee. After the vinegar/water soultion has gone through the machine, brew one cycle of plain water to flush out the vinegar. If the self-clean light stays on, just unplug the machine for longer than 20 minutes, and the light should not come back on when you replug the machine. Good luck!
