When I turn on my SONY KDS-50A2000 TV, the power LED blinks green a few times,then the power LED light blinks RED four times, there is a wait of few seconds, and then it blinks red four times again, the TV does not turn off until I pull out the power plug. SONY customer service suggested that the cooling fan needs replacement.
Unhook the fan and see if the set works, it will work without the fan for testing purposes, chances are the fan is drawing to much current and is being shut down by the TV circuitry

Did you use an original Sony lamp? If so, I would say that the problem lies with your lamp ballast, or lamp power supply. Also, keep in mind that, although rare, occasionally the lamp power supply will fail in such a way that it will take out the lamp and any other lamp that is put in. So if your new lamp is blown, it is likely the lamp power supply that is at fault and you will require a new lamp as well.

I have the same problem with my unit. I've been removing the bulb and just replace it back and unit will work again. I probably need to vacuum or check the fan out too.
