Convergence problem My convergence went out on my 53" Hitachi. I replaced my convergence boards my self. I used a soldering gun to get the old ones out then used it again to put the new ones in. I had a little trouble getting the new ones in and bent the pins. When I turned on the T.V. it was still messed up but not the same as before. Before it just looked like doubles or 3D. After had a bow at the top and the bottom and only one set of doubles. Could this be because I bent the pins or does the T.V. need further adjusting?
Did you replace the six convergence resistors with the ICs? as Hitachi recommends replacing the six resistors when the ICs are replaced as the old ICs can harm the resistors and they will need replacement.

Convergence problems are almost always traced back to the IC chips (also commonly referred to guns). You can order a new board (very pricey) or if you are pretty good with a soldering iron, it's possible to remove the IC's (if you choose to do it yourself, best to replace all 3 IC' s at once). The guns are usually in the $10-20 range apiece whereas the convergence board can run in the $300 range.

Needs convergence amps replaced. Sometimes resistors burn and need to be replaced. This repair requires soldering/desoldering equip. and a trained eye, but usually can be done for 175.00-325.00 at a reputable service center. Good luck, Russmann.
It is not the gun ,but the convergence IC that needs replaced providing that you have went into the tv menu and selected convergence and manually adjusted the blue convergence.
Bad solder connects in convergence circuit...a solid fix is to
replace STK392-110 convergence IC's with upgrade STK394-160
Part # CZ 01341... you need two.....or buy kit # X480295 ( one )
Look for any damaged resistors near IC's.............T.
