This started happening after I tried to play a DVD that is only supposed to be played on a computer or portable device. The DVD is still spinning but the picture will randomly freeze but sound will continue to come out of the speakers. The only way to get it unforzen right away is to hit pause then hit play. After a bit, it freezes the entire DVD and nothing works until you either turn the TV off or switch to TV, AV or HD and then back to HD.
What is causing this and can it be fixed or do I need to take it back (I've had it just over a month and I think I have a 90 day warranty on it) and get a different one. I've heard of it happening on portable DVD players but never on DVD players connected to a TV before. Any suggestions?
Thank you. I can take it back until 11/17/08 so I will go ahead and pack it up and take it back tomorrow.Thank you. I can take it back until 11/17/08 so I will go ahead and pack it up and take it back tomorrow.

You need to take this back if you have the option. The picture freezing lets us know that the data stream is stopping. It will not work right again and it was just coincidental that you uses a diffrent kind of dvd.

Durabrand portable DVD players are no longer supported because the company that made them for Walmart went out of business last Novemeber. You can contact Walmart for a replacement unit.
The microprocessor or memory componets on the player isnt functioning asits supposed too. This is rather troubling and there isnt any easy fixes possible.. My suggestion is seeing as its new return it and get a replacement. Chances are it will fail very soon.
Its sounds like cpu/memory problem.
the laptop can't play dvd while doing other things.
Try to play dvd while all other application are close, if it doesn't freeze its a cpu/memory problem (inwhich case why should try to buy more memory)
Thank you. I can take it back until 11/17/08 so I will go ahead and pack it up and take it back tomorrow.
