Question about Swingline 48208 Optima ® 20 Electric Stapler
I have shut off the stapler to see if it will reset, then plugged it back then tried to put the paper in the slot so it will staple but it is not working?
Unplug it, take it apart and examine the switch actuator and switch to see why they don't trigger the stapler. There's a good chance you'll find the actuator is broken or jammed by a foreign object, or the switch is worn out. Metal-filled epoxy works well for repairing ABS plastic parts.
Another possibility is a broken power cord. You can test the electrical parts for continuity with an ohmmeter (unplugged, of course!).

Swingline heavy duty staplers provide the power to staple up to 120 pages of 20-lb. paper easily and consistently. The all-metal construction of these staplers makes them an indispensible office tool. However, the way to load staples into a Swingline heavy duty stapler differs from the method for loading most other manual staplers and can cause a little confusion.

There is no way to take apart the electric stapler. There are no screws or anything which indicates that it can be taken apart.
