My camera wont allow me to put in my cassette

Did you test the previously recorded photos, or with a recorded cassette? if it is not showing the prerecorded pictures it means there is some problem with the video head, eject the cassette look the head drum carefully, if there any dirt on the head, clean it with a head cleaner cassette.(put the cleaner cassette in and play it,it will play for 3 minutes only, rewind the cassette and ply several times). some old cassette also will not give good result, if your system too old, the head may be weak so that you have to replace it.

Try removing the battery and charging it. Then put the battery back on the camera. This will reset the cassette system. The cassette should open or close depending upon what status it is in. Once you get the camera to eject fully, clean your heads with a dry head cleaner cassette for Hi8 video. If your camera is still eating tape, could be a broken pin or damaged heads.

Possible that you need to check if there is any objects within the cassette tray which is not allowing the tape to land. So check with a good light to see if any broken parts are within. secondly the tray might not be landing perfectly and so might need a realignment.
Finally check to see if the tape is that was put in is a good one with no stickers on any corners.

Mine does that once in a while, I turn it off, remove the battery, put the battery back in, plug the AC adapter in and turn it back on and sometimes it works. Now if I can get it to load a tape without eating it.

Try flipping the cassette over with the reel side toward camera, and tape facing in the camera.

I just posted that I had the same problem with the Elura 100 not taking the cassette, although the compartment will close without a cassette. And I did have the problem with the left wheel rewinding, then the beep occurs.
I was tinkering a bit. I decided to take some video on the SD card, and I let it record for a moment. After that, I went back to trying to get the cassette compartment closed, and it worked! Almost like the camera needed reset.
We'll see if it stays corrected!
Prior to that, I have tried using a can of air, loading a new cassette, etc. And I DEFINITELY did NOT have any condensation!

First, check battery and replace if necessary or plug in to power if you have an adapter. Make sure cassette is undamaged, possibly trying another one instead. Do not force any entry. Good Luck!

when mechanism pops out to eject, wait until it completly comes out, deattache battery immediately, and Pull lever as per below mentioned picture. Cassette door will be open and place cassette. Close it and attache the battery. Camera is ready to Record or Playback.
