2003 scanned to word using HP Officejet Pro L7580 perfectly. After two hours on the phone to HP today, they told me that this all-in-one printer/scanner/fax does not support Office 2007 scanning to Word documents. It scans to Notepad, but loses all formatting.
Do I have to buy a separate scanner that is compatible with Office 2007 Word or do you have a download or something that will resolve this?
Thank you very much,
Dorothy

Unfortunately the following is from MS Word 2007 Help:
The From Scanner or Camera option for scanning documents and pictures is not available in Microsoft Office Word 2007. Instead, you can use your scanner to scan the document, and then you can save the file to your computer.
After you scan the document, you can use Microsoft Office Document Imaging to create a version of the document that you can edit.
Important The first step is to install Microsoft Office Document Imaging, which is not installed by default.
Sorry.

Inserting a pdf file into a file won't work because Microsoft files can only read them as an attachment. There were some licensing squabbles between Microsoft and Adobe which caused this to happen. You can do it if you can scan them as a tiff file.

Ok, if it's showing up as a installed printer, right click that printer and choose set as default. Then right click it again, and go to properties. Inside properties you should get a button that has test print. Click that one and see if you get it to print a test page. If you can, then all is well, if not, then their is a driver issue.
Thanks Mark
