Question about Toymax Magnavox 37MF337B 37 in. LCD TV
Model number us 37MF337B/37 I took of the back cover and was trying to find a burned out chip. nothing stood out. So I removed the cable line from the power supply and the video board when the lcd screen came on. My question is do your think I have a bad power supply board. or is it the video board with the tuner? Thanks for any help
SOURCE: Red bar across top of screen??
I had the same horizontal, solid red bar along the top of the tv screen. I have an older analog Philips Magnavox TP2785C221. It just started all of a sudden. It was on every channel. However, the bar did not appear on the other input channels (e.g., AV1, AV2). So this meant that the red bar was only occurring on the antenna input. I unplugged my cable decoder box and restarted it. The red bar went away and that seemed to solve the problem for now.

Disconnect the LVDS Cable that runs from the small signal board to the display panel and apply power,if the screen comes on,the Small signal board (aka Scaler Bd ) is the faulty board. other than that, all that's really left that has gone bad for me is the logic board.

Its been a while since i worked on that power board. But I believe you are refering to the orange diode that runs into the single connector for the video board next to the power supply. I replaced mine with a 1n914 diode after replacing the 2200uf lytic cap and the tv fired right up.

I think that is the wrong fuse but still it would pop if you have a line problem on the circuit that fuse is piping for a reason not the value but there are more issues on the circuit then what you repaired I would start digging and see if there are more popped caps! not in the power supply but else where like the hd push board or the decoder in better terms.
Thanks hope this helps if you cannot get it done take it in for a estimate as estimate will tell you the issue fixed or not and you can take that advice from that tech and repair your TV!!

Testimonial: "rulds2008 provided good and timely information and advice. I appreciate the quick turn around."
The part number for the power supply board in the 37MF331D TV is actually 715T2056-1 If your TV is not turning on you should be able to repair your power supply board for much less than you can buy a new board. The most common problem with these boards that causes the TV to not power up right is a failure of the filter capacitors. You can get information on what parts need to be replaced at this link:
I hope this helps,
