Hi Shaun, that sounds like a defective relay. have a look in the rely pack and identify which controls the pump. check the fuse and if its okay replace the relay. If your problem remains, and the vehicle uses a mass air flow sensor with a gate the problem may be with the micro switch which is opened when the flap moves. Otherwise the problem will be in the wiring. I hope you are aware that the system has a demand circuit and will only give power when the engine is being cranked ad then starts. This is designed to stop flooding if the key is left on and the engine is not started. Otherwise you have a problem with wiring. Regards John

I have a 91 s-10 that wont run...fuel pump runs and I am getting fuel to the carb all brand new plugs and wires and ignition coil and module and new cap and rotor? fires up and dies out?

The fuel pump relay is at fault. The engine will start running off the oil pressure sensor for the 3rd wire connected to the sensor feeds power to the fuel pump which makes your truck start right up. When the engine achomplish the standard oil pressure as needed the sensor shuts power off by the PCM default system and turns on the fuel pump relay to continue working the fuel pump. replace the relay and you will be driving around again
