Freezer my gibson upright has been unplugged for about 8 months. i cleaned it and moved it to a new location. now it wont freeze any suggestions

replace the ptc overload/relay on the compressor and it will cool again

REPLACE THE DEFROST ELEMENT IN THE FREEZER SECTION, WILL BE AS NEW AFTER THAT. REGARDS RUSS

It is possible to cause an air lock when moving an appliance by tilting it and then not allowing the refrigerent to settle before switching on. Try unplugging it and laying it on its side for a couple of minutes, then put it upright and leave it for 6 hours to settle, then plug it in again.

The problem may be the freezer drain heater has failed, locate the drain inside of the freezer compartment and check to see if it is warm, if not you may need to replace the heater.

Rule of thumb, if you lay a frig/freezer on side let sit upright at new location for 24 hours before plugging it in.

Is it a self defrosting? Or not? And how did you defrost it?If you scraped and chipped the ice away, you may have poked a hole in the evaporator and the refrigerant (freon) leaked out.

Unplug the unit and leave it undisturbed for 24 hours. Plug the unit back in again and see if it will come to temp.

Check to see if there is a reset on the compressor or close to it. Turn your control knobs up and down and see if you hear a "click". You might cause it to engage at that point. Let me know how this does.

If it started to cool again the compressor was running. Check the condenser and make sure it is clean. Provide as much air movement through the garage as possible . 100 degrees is a high temperature to be operating a refrigerator in.

Might try unplugging for a few hours and then plug it back in. There is a possibility that it slugged the compressor and there is a restriction in the line. Sometimes when the compressor fails to stop running in cold air the liquid gets back to the compressor. It can cause a bit of gunk to be picked up out of the oil and carried to the expansion line and plug up the line. Maybe turning it off will let the plug fall free and not replug the line. Worth a try anyway.....
