Hotpoint_wt965 hi my hotpoint display showing ,test, in any programmes i tried solution from daveboy but still no results any other ideas or how long i need to hold both buttons?

There are few methods, depends on the age of the appliance.

Press the Start/Cancel button until all the console LED's illuminate.
Press both Start/Cancel and On/Off buttons together until
d OFF appears.
The default screen returns and you can select a new programme.

Simply press the Cancel button and the appliance returns to default.

Press On/Off and Start/Cancel toghether with top left option button until d OF appears.

or

Switch off at mains, press and hold On/Off & Start/Cancel buttons, switch mains back on, keep holding down buttons until Doff appears in display.

'F12' for Hotpoint (and other names made by Indesit!) decodes as 'communications error' which sounds major BUT is not uncommon in these machines and is often caused by poor contact between plugs/ cables and the control PC hence the intermittancy- just needing re-seating- by an engineer ;-0(

F05 - Pressure switch jammed on full - Check pump for blackages. Also resetting the machine sometimes solves the problem switch off at plug for 5 mins then switch back on and try again. hop this helped

Not good news - need to book an engineer, F18 is
Communication error the main module could be at fault (PCB)
This is located byhind the switches under the top, don't attempt to have a look though

press start once
then press start again now hold on/off and cancel together for a few secs should no say d/off or something should work now

with machine on press and hold the on/off button and the start/reset button together untill d OFF shows on display then release.
the test program is now off and you can use the appliance

turn the machine on while you press the start and on buttons at the same time until dOFF appears.

I have a ultima WMD940 won't drain and comes up code F05. Please can you help my washing is piling up

Your test mode is on, maybe accidently. Press "start", "cancel", "on" & "off" together for 10 secs, you will see d/off come on the display. Do the same & the test mode comes on again.
