Hi,
If standby red light is solid then press power or channel button on remote of tv itself to turn it ON.
And if red light is blinking/ flashing then it is an indication that tv got problem and tech visit is needed to sort out problem.

Hi,
Red light flashing on tv indicates that tv got some problem and shifted to protection mode to avoid further damage.
If Lamp light is flashing on tv then check lamp that would be dead or broke, replace lamp to solve tv problem.
If standby red light is flashing on tv then let me know how many times it is flashing after 3 seconds long pause to provide you helpful info.

Tv wont power up Standby light keeps flashing.

First step in any Sony LCD projector repair is bulb or lamp replacement. Fixes 95% of problems.

Taking apart and trying to measure things without a known good bulb is a waste of time and effort.

Sony Trinitron TV. No picture; red standby/timer light flashes.

My Sony trinitron has the stero lite on steady and standby lite flashes four times then pauses and repeats. Can you tell me the circuit/condition causing the set to not turn on.

The POWER/STANDBY (red) indicator flashes three times
If your power/standby indicator is flashing in a pattern of three flashes, this may indicates that the lamp cover is not attached securely. Follow the directions in the Operating Manual under changing your lamp that related to closing and securing the Lamp Cover. Ensure that the Lamp Cover Door is securely fastened by tightening each screw.

The POWER/STANDBY (red) indicator flashes continously
If your power/standby indicator is flashing continuously, and the lamp cover has been secured, your TV may be in need of service.

The POWER/STANDBY indicator is lit up green (not flashing)
A sustained green light indicates your TV is on.

The POWER/STANDBY indicator is lit up red (not flashing)
A sustained red light from your power/standby indicator simply indicates that your TV is in standby mode. This shows you that your TV is ready to be turned on with the remote.

Is it the power light and not the lamp light? If the lamp light is flashing then replace the lamp.
