Does the oven heat to the proper temperature and hold it there or does it not heat at all? I could not tell from your description of the problem.

Kitchen Aid convection oven doesn't reach pre-heating set temperature

There are a few other things you can try to troubleshoot this issue:
  1. Check the oven gasket: If the gasket around the oven door is worn or damaged, it could be letting heat escape from the oven, which can prevent it from reaching the desired temperature.
  2. Check the oven igniter: If the oven igniter is faulty, it may not be able to draw enough current to ignite the gas and heat the oven. You can test the igniter with a multimeter to see if it is working properly.
  3. Check the oven thermostat: The thermostat regulates the temperature inside the oven. If it is faulty, it may not be able to maintain the desired temperature. You can test the thermostat with a multimeter to see if it is working properly.
  4. Check the control board: The control board regulates the oven's heating elements and can be a source of problems if it is faulty. You can test the control board with a multimeter to see if it is working properly.
If none of these solutions work, it may be best to call a professional technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

Convection oven not working properly???

your correct the only difference between a regular oven and a convection oven is that it has a fan.when you open the oven door the fan should be spinning to a stop if this is not the case you may have a problem with the fan.

I have a dual fuel Dacor ERD30 range that will not stay hot. Lately, it will heat up to the desired temperature and beep to indicate it is ready, but then will not hold the temperature. And strangely, if...

Sounds similar to what mine is doing.
Since Dacor uses the gas broiler to preheat the oven, the problem is that the lower heating element isn't getting power.
I took out the element and verified that the element is still good, but no AC voltage coming from the relay board to the element.
Try setting on the Pure Convection mode - it will probably heat up and hold the temp fairly well - that still doesn't do any good if you need to bake something covered (convection modes are useless for covered container..

Put an oven thermometer in the oven on convection bake and check the actual temp inside. I'll bet it's not maintaining the correct temp in convection.

The convection oven and broiler

Dear Klymer

Immediately you have a problem by the sounds of it that is related to the heating element that is inside the oven. This is evident from the fact that you say the convection van is rotating but there is no heat being produced. Now in the case of gas ovens, yo WILL CERTAINLY NEED AN APPROVED AND ACCREDITED GAS ENGINEER BY LAW. however, electric ovens are not necesessarily regulated. If the problem is in relation to a gas oven not heating, then either your gas supply or your element/ flame emitter may either be blocked or interrupted. IF THIS IS THE CASE, STOP USING THE DEVICE AND CALL OUT A GAS ENGINEER.

The other possible problem with this device could be to do with the electronic gas regulator (if your oven as one) and this is preventing gas from being recieved into the combustion nozzles within the oven. This regulator controls the amount of gas and the temperature to which the oven is to be heated to. Should this componen malfunction then it is defaulted to switch off, for obvious safety reasons.......These units are replaceable, but may cost a small fortune, and on top of this, it is advisable to call an engineer to fit this part.

You mention that you can notice the fan rotating on the digital display, but if the fan is not actually rotating, then your problem then poiints to an electrical fault which can happen if your appliance is powered on for excessive periods of time (thermal damage). Yet again, the electronics behind ovens are fairly straight forward, and usually its either the replacement of PCBs or elements that will recify many of these faults. But if you do decide to DIY jobby the repair, at least get your work checked out IT COULD SAV YOU ALOT OF MONEY AND EVEN YOUR LIFE!!!

I wish you all the best and I hope that this information was satisfactory, please do not hesitate to contact me here if you have further comments and questions, as im always on hand to answer your questions 24hrs a day 7/365 days a year. Once again good luck, and please let me know what happens
