SOURCE: menu display intermitent

display is disclosed which produces multiple visual displays in an intermittent manner which includes a display housing having a perimeter wall which is transparent during visual display and is an opaque mirror between visual displays. The perimeter wall of the display housing is a composite structure which preferably includes a transparent cylindrical substrate which is coated with an optical film and an opaque mask which defines display windows. Multiple visual displays are produced by a rotating display base which carries rows of rotating display elements. Preferably, the display elements are elongated triangular elements having three image faces which bear images which create the visual displays. The triangular display elements are arranged in a triangular configuration wherein the rows intersect one another at acute angles and are carried by the rotating base. The rotating base includes three display positions and each of the triangular elements includes three display positions. A stationary observer would see nine different visual displays and may see themselves mirrored in between and during the changes of visual displays. The perimeter wall of the display housing becomes transparent as the triangular display elements are backlit along their entire length by elongated fluorescent or neon light tubes. When the light tubes are off, the cylindrical display housing is an opaque mirror, preferably, about its entire periphery and height. Other embodiments of the invention include a single row of triangular display elements, and a rotating display base which includes display faces consisting of only a single display element.

SOURCE: LCD monitor shuts down every after 2-3 seconds

dustcore025, Need a little more info here. Do you know age of monitor? Was it or did it display a "perfect' image on it the day before? Is it under warranty? How far are you willing to go to try and repair this thing? Do you know how to "part" the snap together plastic back cover from the bezel, after removing the pedestal? This sounds to me like a Switch-mode-power-supply or Inverter problem that occurs when some Electrolytic Filter Capacitors get a little bit TIRED of being constantly subjected to high temperatures near heatsinks that are used to keep semiconductors within operating limits. You can determine how bad this may be if you can do a test and remember what happens. Here is what to do. Make sure PC is fully booted displaying WIN desktop or some other screen. Next, with someone to keep hitting the CTRL or SP bar key every 20-40 seconds while you reconnect both cables of your MM17 back to the PC video port and ac outlet. Now try to turn on the monitor and note exactly what you see and for how long. Did it have a sharp clear image, even for 1-2 seconds? did the screen go black? OK! Next thing is to shine a bright flashlight onto the screen 2 inches away from where you know there was something a few seconds ago. Try it at different angles and not if you see anything. get back to me with results of test. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @ aol.com BYE for now.

SOURCE: input select button to switch between hdmi/dvi/vga

Unless there is simply some dirt or dust caught in it, I would imagine that the button has lost its 'spring' or bounce-back ability which means that either you can take the big risk of attempting to fix it or come up with some other clever way to give it bounce.

I have 3 out of 4 Asus VK222H LCD Monitor Menu/Brightness Appearing w/o Button Press, stays onscreens for varying amount of time, then dissapears for a while to return again. Monitors bought August 2008....

Mine did the same. I don't know what caused it, but removing the menu button solved it. Crude but effective.
I took a knife, pried out the Menu button, then took a pliers and removed the little black plastic button and problem solved.
Now I can't change the settings, but switching between VGA, HDMI, and DVI works just fine. No more annoying brightness pop-ups that don't go away!!!

Whole screen pink and edges distorted green its on my dell insiron 6400 laptop

check the connctions on your monitor. I had this problem on my monitor for 2 months and it started shortly after I cleaned my desk so I thought maybe I had accidentally pressed a button. I found out later that a wobbly connection to the monitor gave faulty connection info to the screen so I just touched it today and it went magically white. Please try it before attempting anything else!

Screen goes pink and green starting with a few pixels

Best thing to do, try a different known working monitor to hook up to the computer. If the screen works and doesn't change colors then you know its the original monitor that is bad.

If you hook up the known working monitor and the same problem happens then you know its the video card that is bad and the video card would have to be replaced.

The buttons in the front of my monitor broke. is there an alternative to adjusting the settings besides through that?

Hi.

There's a way, if your video card support advanced properties like having a control panel from the installed drivers like NVidea cards. If not have the button fixed to a repair shop... they'll just have to replace the button or make a remedy to make it work...

That's all... don't forget to rate... good luck...
