Hi there, Even with the charger plugged in it doesnt work? It could be 2 causes. Your battery or charger might be faulty. Your data on your system shouldnt be affected by it. I would advise taking it to a service agent or computer shop to have the battery and charger tested.
What is brand and model #? Remington R650? If it is, it should work with charger plug on without using battery. If it does not work, the battery may be shorted. To take out the battery please refer my procedure I posted in another battery exchanbe trace. It holds by 4 hinden screws under the red plastic cover. I did disassemble the whole unit from top down just investigate everything. To remove trimer may not be necessary though.
you dont need to load your cd..just click the camera and to the options,(upper right side of the camera dialog box)..changed the settings until you fix it..
