SOURCE: Krups GVX2-12 Electric Burr... Problem:

First, unlock and unscrew the upper burr carrier. Clean and check the upper burr by gently running your finger over the teeth in the cutting direction. It shoild feel moderately sharp. If it feels very blunt, look at the teeth under a good light. If you see a substantial "flat spot" at the top of the teeth, probably the burr set will need replacement.
For the bottom burr, clean carefully its teeth, and the entire area in which it is housed. Include the outlet orofice as well. You may find a lot of oily deposits within here, so just clean them off as best as possible.
When all is clean, insert the top burr holder back in place. Screw it down until both burrs touch, then back it off (say) 1/4 turn, and lock.
Put some beans in the top, and switch on. Adjust the top burr until the desired grind is obtained.
The ground coffee should feel like a coarse sand when close to the desired grind size.

SOURCE: Coffee grinder

Mine had a piece of the top/bean lid broken off and lodged in the groove preventing the lid from going down far enough to release the safety switch which is on the right (as you look at the front) in the bottom of the groove. Note that there is another safety switch in the body of the grinder above where the ground coffee comes out that must be working as well.

SOURCE: GVX2 krups coffee grinder; how to open it?

I have the same issue. You need to take both dials off, then on the bottom, there are 4 tabs on the inside. Seperate the halves and you will see them. Towards the front and halfway back. Pry the halves apart enough to push the top towards the bottom and it slides apart pretty easy. The tricky part now is finding the replacement part. I have super glued my switch and I want to do something to try and repair it further. Maybe epoxy. I called Krups and they can't sell the part to me. I called one of their service centers and they can't sell the part to me. So, if someone knows where to get the part, I am all ears :)

SOURCE: Krups GVX2-12 Electric Burr - Thermal Fuse

My grinder stopped suddenly. Open the cover(s) by prying at the cracks with a butter knife or flat head screw driver.
The thermal fuse was good in my case, as were the interlock switches.
The circuit board was burnt around a large power resistor but I could figure out which component was bad. I simply cut out the timer control completely. One of the black motor wires now connects to the red wire from the bottom interlock switch and the other black wire connects to the blue AC power wire. I may put in a button switch but it works great by using the lid interlock as an on/off switch.

No coffee is coming out of the machine...

in our machine we wanted a stronger coffee so we adjusted the auto grinder (where the coffee beans are housed) to the finest setting thinking the finer the grind the stronger the coffee...after doing this the machine wouldnot make coffee...we sent it away while still under warranty and the tech said that the grind selection was too low so they just turned the grinder back up a notch and it worked fine ....dont know if this will help but it's worth a try!

Cannot get my krups burr grinder gvx 2 to turn on or do anything. there are no instructions in the box.

Hi,

The GVX2 has two micro switches. one on the top hopper (in the groove on right hand side) and the other in the space the coffee holder (collector) fits into.

The coffee collector micro switch is activated by the lid of the collector.

You have to listen for a small "click" as you place the hopper on and again as you insert the coffee collector.

Fill out water

The Krups Burr Grinder GVX2 featured in the picture is not a coffee maker, per se, it only grind coffee beans to use in other coffee makers. It is a lousy machine, and I would recommend returning it or not buying it.
DO NOT PUT WATER INTO THIS MACHINE. It will cause electric shock.

I bought a Krups GVX2 coffee grinder and am not able to get it to work. I have followed the instructions "to the letter" but once it's plugged in and switched on, the "on" switch on...

I know that this machine is sensitive with the lids needing to be securely fastened (both the top and the plastic catch bottom container) maybe that is it.

Won't Grind without shaking it!

Sound like it's choked up with grounds and oil. Burrs may also be blunt. U need to dismantle and clean/ check burrs, passages and body. If you can see "flats" on the burrs or they feel not sharp when you check with finger, they should be replaced.
