42 inch Vizio will not stay on

Has been working fine. Suddenly I can not get it to stay on. I push the power button, it clicks on and the green light comes on. After a short wait a blank screen comes up the the TV shuts back off. A couple of times it stayed on long enough to see that it said no signal at the top of the blank screen before it tuned back off. I rebooted the cable box, but no difference.
Thanks,

My Vizio does the same thing. It lights up but the screen doesnt come on. The great thing is that it's not under warranty. So I'm stuck with trying to figure out what the cause is, and how to fix it.

There are 4 scenarios. The most afford part out of these scenarios starting at $215 to $850.
My recommendation:
A. use a repair tech.
B. Buy a new TV cause there are knock out deal right now at circuit city(chapter 11)!

I would look for a power supply from discount-merchant.com or shopjimmy.com if you can't find then repair the ps, look for bad caps bulging or open and ousing out.

Need vizio code for Samsung remote!!

I have a 37 inch vizio and had the same problem. After a little web research, I came across a suggestion that the LG codes might work. I tried it and found that the code 19 worked. You might try that. If 19 doesn't work for you, one of the other LG codes might (they are 06, 21, 22, 23 or 78).

Vizio 50 inch plasma -- remote not working

You can also try to take out the batteries and push all of the buttons with the batteries out of the remote. Then put the batteries back in and push the power button on the remote. If this doesnt work press the two TV buttons at the same time and the remote should be fine.
