Hi, I set it all up following the book but it will not connect to internet.
I have connected the Ethernet wire accordingly to an open LAN port
in my wireless ADSL router. The light at the LAN ports comes on.
The light at the base (Ethernet connection) comes on but...the telephone will not allow connection and says "connection failure" when I try to use Skype... I am missing something here ? Do I have to configurate the
telephone with some further details about my ADSL line or internet connection...? PLS CAN YOU HELP ME. THANKS from Gran Canaria. Jas
Try retrieve the IP address of your VOIP841, on the handset press the “Menu” button, navigate to the “Settings” menu and choose the option “Network”, then "DHCP", it should give you an IP address, make a note of this. Open your Internet browser and type in the IP Address of the VOIP841
into the address bar. The Internet browser will show the internal
Internet page of your device. Login with the following username and password:
Username: philips
Password: voip841
After logging in please navigate to the “Skype” menu option in the left
side menu. On this page y
ou can type your Skype username and password. Once they are filled in
save your settings and test on the handset if everything is working.

The problem is that when I check the handset it seems to have picked up NO IP ADDRESS despite the fact in my wireless router I can see that an IP NUMBER and a MAC ADDRESS has been assigned to the VOIP... (???). I also made sure that the DCHP option of my router is ON so I cannot understand why the handset DOES NOT PICK UP THE IP NUMBER AUTOMATICALLY...
When I check the DCHP option on the handset it reads ENABLED but, if I change the setting to
Spanish and then check the same DCHP option in the handset it reads "DESACTICADO"...which
means "NOT ACTIVE"... This really looks like a faulty VOIP, doesn't it ?
My Philips voip841 problem is that when I dial, I get a message that skype is off line. It was working for a while???
