Filter is tbe found by removing lower rear cover of washer, and removing the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum, remove and clean plastic filter inside the hose.
It could mean that either the bearings or the spider needs to be replaced. If you try to spin the wash basket by hand, does it turn smooth and quiet or do you hear a rumble sound? If it is noisy, it probally needs a bearing change. To change the bearing, the washer has to be taken completely appart to get access to the bearing. The parts cost are relatively inexpensive, but the labor costs is high due to the time to disassemble and reassemble the washer. If you are handy, and have the tools, you can buy the parts and do it yourself. You have to decide whether it is worth spending the time and money to fix or to purchase a new machine.
It is rare that it would be the bearings as there would be play in the tub, it would be noisy and would probably leak. There is a small electrical box in the bottom of the machine. This is the speed control for the motor. You will also find the wireing diagram in a plastic bag in this location. You can check to see which wires require current to activate the different speeds.
I hope this helps.
hi from the uk susan ? this is not uncommon and easily fixed if you are confident DIY ? and req's a little patience with a posi drive screwdriver if you want to save $$$$s on call out fee ? the problem is most probably the time delay switch which prevents door opening too soon after cycle/machine has finished and the light has gone off then door can be opened if you feel confident ? will help/instructions on how to rectify fault if you reply back ?
In ost cases there is a scerw on the outide of the machine which holds the bracket that holds the valve. Go ahead and get the valve and look over the new one, it will tell you volumes about how to install it. Like where that screw would be, Good Luck!
The dial is not a timer that moves through the prog, it is a selector switch, which selects the programme you require, and therefore does not move round
You need to check the filter re the spin prob.
Remove rear panel, remove large black hose from bottom of tub, remove filter, and clean.
Refit filter and hose.
Test for leaks
UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE - Hi sorry about the delay - the door needs to lock before anything will work - So - Either the door lock is faulty or the circuitry to the door is faulty.
The door lock is not too difficult to replace. Engineers reach it by going through the front ( where the door seal connects onto the front panel)
The lock connects directly to the Timer/circuit board so if it is not the lock it will be the timer board.
Hope this helps
