Emerson 37 in LCD Television

I have owned my TV since january of this year. It has always worked perfectly. Yesterday morning I woke up and turned on TV (to watch the news) and no picture would come on. You can still hear the sound but only see colors occasionally. You also can not see the volume being changed or the channel. Nothing happened to it for it to quit working! It seems if I squeeze or lightly hit the top of the TV (where the volume/channel buttons are, then the color(s) increase. What is going on?? Am I out $700 ?? I LOVED THIS TV!!! I also have 3 children who are very upset as well. Any suggestions would be most appreicated!! THANK YOU!!!

The problem can be fixed by replacing the digital main board. if its under warrenty take it in and have it replaced for you.

When i turn on my emerson 37 lcdtv all i get is sound.

If the tv was working, and you are on regular tv, and this used to work b4, then U have a bad tv set. Some of these brands, especially philips plasmas have a history of this problem.

The TV turns on; there is no picture or sound

your mainboard needs replaced from within you engine component located in the rear part of the unit. its the boad with the most inputs. google the board id and see if u can find a replacement.

I've had the same problem with mine. Only had it for 3 months and the warranty sucks. I found out that the inverter transformer goes bad on these LCD TVs. It takes 6 of those on my power inverter board to power my 32' screen. After replacing the one bad inverter transformer, it's working again. There should be a recall for this junk part.
