Yes! Just be sure to use the remote, and when you enter "General" features... Look for recording, or Dubbing. Under dubbing... It should allow you to choose which way you wan the recording to go. For example, VHS>DVD or DVD>VHS... Then, install the blank in one side, the movie in the other, and hit the "Dubbing" RECORD button. this should work. Also, most companies now have their documentation, even for very old units, online should you need the instruction manual which originally came with your unit. Good luck!

When I place a vcr in my machine all I get is a snowy picture. Why would this happen? The DVD player works but not the VCR

Make sure the tape you are trying to view has something recorded on it. Also insure that the tape you are trying to view is not recorded at a speed your DVD Recorder/VCR combo can not handle. If it is a pre recorded tape and it will play on another unit, then your VCR heads are dirty. Try using a VCR head cleaner. If that doesn't work the heads may need to be cleaned by hand or possibly may be bad, a trip to the repair shop would be call for then.

Play the video on your through your recorder if possible, then record it that way. It works for me. Just go to your watch tv setting and record it off channel three while the vcr plays the video.
