Wanna decrease the sound for ring tone - O2 Samsung SGH-E250 Cellular Phone

This most likely has to do with the sound profile that you currently have set. Go into the sound options, see if there is a detailed option available to increase/decrease the ring volume or vibration.

Some phones have the option to turn on an alert and vibration for text/incoming call.s

the phone goes off and restarts by itself when you try to choose/set a ring tone? its possible that the ring tone file is missing or corrupted. or if that ringtone came with the cellphone when you bought it, try removing the battery for a minute, put it back in, turn on the cellphone and see if the same issue happens, you may wanna have the cellphone look onto by a technician because its already a hardware issue i believe =)

Sound Settings
You can customize various sound settings.
Incoming call

Ringtone.
This menu allows you to select a ring melody. Highlight Ringtone and press . Use the Up or Down key to highlight a ring tone or press the Left or Right key to select a file from either the Default Melodies, Voice list, or Sounds folders. Press the Select soft key.

Volume
This menu allows you to adjust the ring volume to one of 7 levels plus Silent mode and Vibration mode.

• Use the Right or Left key to increase or decrease the volume.

Alert type
This menu allows you to specify how inform you of incoming calls. Use the Right or Left key to select an Alert type.
The following options are available:
- Melody: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ringtone menu.
- Vibration: the phone vibrates but does not ring.
- Melody and vibration: the phone rings and vibrates simultaneously.
- Vibration then melody: the phone vibrates three times and then starts ringing.
- Melody then vibration: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ringtone menu and then vibrates.

Message tone
This menu allows you to set up the ringer for incoming messages. You can set the Tone, Alert type, and Repetition.

Keypad tone
This menu allows you to select a Beep or a Xylophone for your Keytone and to select the Volume (0-7) that the
phone sounds when you press a key.

There are 2 types of volume in your nokia phone that you can increase or decrease.

The first one is the ring tone volume. You can either increase or decrease your ring tone volume by pressing the menu key then go to settings, go to profile, select any desired profile go to personalise go to ringing volume, then increase or decrease by using the navigation button to the right or left.

The second way is to increase or decrease the volume of the speaker of your phone which i think is the cause of your question (this volume enables you to hear clear and loud the person on the other phone). You increase or decrease the volume by making a call, as soon as the call starts ringing, press the navigation key to right to increase the volume or to the left to decrease the volume.

All you need to do is goto Tools and Settings/Sound Settings/Ringer Volume

menu/settings/sounds and alert...then you can increase the volume or decrease it

1. to set mp3 ring tones...

copy any mp3 file to phone ( via cable or bluetooth )
go to multimedia = go to mp3 = now play the song you want as tone,
when song is playing, select options, and select = set as ring tone

DONE and smile......

2. to set Default sound ring tones...

go to menu = my stuff = sounds =
browse the sound files when you like one , select options, and set as ring tone.....

Hi there, don't worry changing ring tone it's a very easy task. All you have to do is go to the main menu on your phone. From there you wanna go to settings, and you should see and option there to change the ringtone. In the other hand if your phone has sound files that can be used as a ring tone, then all you have to is go to the location of that file (it's usually located under "my stuff" "my music" etc) and select the file, from there you can select that file to assign as a ring tone. If you need further instructions you might want to put the make and model of your phone. Good luck!
