Is the heating element submergable in oil i have just never seen a heating element that is in direct contact with liquid and the paperwork doesnt say. I know that the way its put together it looks like it goes into the oil or water to cook, and u cant put it in water to wash. I just want to make sure before i burn my house down.

If a heating element is not immersed in a fluid ,it overheats and burns out
if it is designed to be in a fluid ( cooking oil or water as in hot water system) that is where it goes
If you are having doubts , you should not be doing the job so get in a professional to fit it

SOURCE: Can you soak heating element on a butterball electric turkey fryer?

Most heating elements are indeed submerged in oil and for that reason I would not think it would affect your unit, however I do not normally work on home model products. I am a commercial restaurant equipment dealer, working on commercial products only. Trying it out would tell with within a few minutes whether it's going to work or not? Any other questions, I would find the 800 number or website for that company and ask them directly. Sorry I couldn't be more help to you, but I just don't know that much about home model stuff.

Does the heating elements for my 16 cup deep fryers sit directly in the oil?

Heating elements should not be in direct contact or near a combustable materiel. Heating element should be in free space and away from touching the pot base. If you have oil touching your heating element you wil have sponsteous combustion and create a fire. In your case have someone qualified to disassemble your unit and clean the chamber where your heating element is located, have the pot verifed for possible leaks. Note: someone may have spilled oil over the edge of the pot which ingressed to the bottom of the fryer where your heating element is located. Good house keeping with your appliances is essentiel for your safety.
Good luck and be aware of fire.

My standing fan is humming and wont spin the way it should. It spins in the reverse direction at an extremely slowly, kinda like its dried(already oiled it up). When I try to manually give it a push start,...

Sounds like the shaft & bearings are gummed up. Clean them up with Liquid Wrench or WD - 40 (sparingly) spinning the shaft by hand to get it inside the bearings, front & rear. You should feel it loosening up. Then remove as much as you can with a cloth while spinning the shaft. Then relube with 3-in-1 oil. --- Oil alone will not cut thru the gum. Remember WD - 40 and Liquid Wrench are not lubricants!! You must use 3 -in-1oil or the likes.

Will varying temperatures affect the rate in which metal rusts when submerged in different liquids?

yes rust or iron oxide is formed when iron (Fe) reacts with the oxygen (O2) in the air and in water. the more oxygen the faster it will rust and since cold air is denser than hot air it could be said that metal will rust in the cold much faster. however once freezing point is reached the o2 in water cannot react with the iron and therefore is a nonreactant. only the o2 in the air would react so below freezing the process is slowed considerably. the liquid would affect the rate at which rust forms because of the water content in the liquid. if you submerge a screw in oil you could leave it indefinitely and it would not rust because there is no O2 whatsoever in it. whereas if you left it in apple juice the water in the mixture would eventually cause it to rust.

if your looking to keep somthing from rusting a coat of oil or wd40 then wrapped in plastic wrap is your best bet

Light does not come on, nor does it heat up

Some fryers have safety switches on the heating element, this is so they can not be turned on when not properly installed into the unit. Check to see if there are grooves or slots on the side of the fryer which correspond to grooves or slots on heating element. Then slide the heating element into the slots on the fryer.
Safety switch in most cases can not be seen and can not be disengaged by hand. The heating element must be installed properly in order to work. It may be illustrated clearly in the owners manual.
Do not try this with out oil in the Fryer!!
