My 2004 tahoe z71 overhead drop-down dvd player message dish format error is that means my dvd player is bad need new one or something i can do to fix i?

You have to have the computer of the vehicle scanned to find the problem then you need to get it fixed right away. Their is really no way of telling from this end without seeing the vehicle.Start by checking all fluid levels, Oil,Coolant,Transmission.If all this is good scan the computer with a OBII scanner or take it to a garage and get it scanned. It may just be something simple or it could be something very serious.Do not drive the vehicle it is worth the cost of a tow truck to prevent further damge if you can not determind the cause and fix it yourself.

So I purchased a replacement overhead DVD player; now I have the old screen that works fine (with the bad DVD player). you would have to get a schematic of the wiring either from the car manufacturer or website then it would be basic splicing and connecting. down side is tearing apart your ride for the new monitor. if you need more installation help sure someone can answer ya for a premium

If you've had it a long time and used it often, could be the lens is dirty or something wore down and it should be trashed since newer players have more features like usb ports.

Problem: All DVDs would not play in Jensen MVB85A overhead 8.5 DVD player. Error code: "Incorrect Region Code"

FIX:

1. Use the remote to power on DVD player
2. Ensure there are NO DVDs in the drive
3. When you see the DVD logo screen, press 9653 on the remote
4. A hidden menu will open stating the region code. My region code was set to 0 and my I was receiving the error.
5. Press the "OK" button to change the Region Code to "1".

Once the region code was set to 1 all DVDs were playing.
