You might try to open your DS and look inside for losen upper screen ribbon.
If not working after tightening and locking the ribbon and the plug then you should have a broken top screen ribbon or the screen itself, and need to replace parts depending if you have the DS or DS lite.

Wont turn on

I'll quote GBATemp here:

symptom:
the ds lite powers up for a brief instant, but then shuts off
potential solution:
disassemble the lower shell and check the connections of upper and lower displays (all three flexible cable connections).

Top Screen of DS Lite broken

Replace upper screen and the Upper front bezel.
Or replace the upper screen and the complete DS Lite Housing. You can find them on the well known auction sites. Please be aware that you must know what your are doing. If in doubt, send it to Nintendo or a local Nintendo repair service

If the top screen is completly white then ther is most probably a shotcut in the connentor. You can replace the screen youself (+/- €20). you can find the instructions here:

Nintendo ds upper screen has lines

I see what the problem that your haveing is, their is a possible problem with the back of the DS where the bottom and top hinges together (that long clip) which joines the two screens. Inside that hinge is a cable that connects both screens togehter, their could be a possible problem with in that, to get that repaired you must take it to a qualified technician. Another possibility could be that their is something wrong with the batteries/chargeing unit since it isnt letting out enough electrical out put as its supposed to to power both screens. But what ever the case i suggest you take it to an electician, do not open it your self because this may cause further problems.

Hope this solves ur problem, if things are still messing up, just contact me again.

Nintendo ds to screen broken

Hi, replacing the original nds upper screen is a fairly straight forward procedure, you need to remove the 4 x small plastic plugs located in the corners of upper screen, then remove the 4 x phillips screws, the top outer back part of the case will seperate and you can gain access to the screen. Firstly remove the small screw holding down the right hand pcboard to gain access to the ribbon connectors, release the larger flat connector by hinging the clip up, slide the ribbon out, underneath you will see a tiny connector, gently ease the small clip back towards the ribbon, prising a little each side at a time, remove the ribbon and then you can prise the screen from the case.
These guys sell the replacement screens www.ps2laser.co.uk prices are very competitive and offer next day delivery!
