I have a 2007 Yamaha jet ski. I was able to use a 10mm open end wrench and remove the latch from the seat. If you look through the grab handle and under the seat you can see the post that holds the seat and in either side you can see the bolts holding the latch on. Only a small portion on the bolt head is visible so you have to be patient as there is very little room to maneuver. As you slowly, an 1/8 turn at a time, remove the 2 bolts the latch will come away from the seat. Good luck.

As bad as this sounds its the only way. Grab yourself a 2x4 and a nice size prybar.
Lay 2x4 across the back grab handle as to not damage it then put prybar directly under seat latch and pop it up.

Just to make sure its broken, you should try sitting on the seat first while trying to unlatch.

What now ?? my yamaha suv1200 Can the transmission be shot ?

there are no gears just a direct drive from the crank to a jet pump ! if theres no propultion of water it could be several things !
1. plastic bag etc in the intake to impellor pump assy !
2. impellor gap to housing too much ie worn impellor !
3. impellor not turning because splines on either the shaft or impellor worn !
4. drive coupler damaged and spinning on shaft !
Try running on a hose pipe and look at rear of engine ( remove plastic cover so you can see the 2part coupler and drive shaft ) .
Check the impellor assy !

How to remove the seat

Bubba, Under the front of the seat is a latch that you must release there is a rubber block that must be rotated forward to be able to release the two little knobs that it is wedged between Rotate the knobs inward and lift the front of the seat. the seat will flip toward the rear of the chair and you now have access to the batteries. to remove the seat disconnect the joystick cable from the base and slide the seat forward after you have it tilte back and lift it off the base. Hope this helps you

Putting the back seat down in a 97 Mazda Protege

The release on an LX or ES model is at the top of the seat backs, near the door opening, for the rear seats. The rear bench is a 60/40 split on these models. The rear seat does not lay down on the DX models.
