SOURCE: No electric power generated from my Coleman Powermate Maxa 5000W.

the gensets on coleman generators are definately nothing to brag about but i would start by checking the windings and make sure the brushes have a clean armature to ride on

SOURCE: I have a Coleman Powermate Pulse 1850 Generator.

Hi,
If the generator hasn't been used for awhile the rotor may have lost it's magnetism. All you need is to re-excite it. There are several websites that explain how to do this. It's a good place to start.

SOURCE: My coleman powermate generator will start but will not generate.

The voltage regulator controls the output. You will need to check that first.

Powermate model 544000 generator undervoltage

There are basically 2 possibilities that can cause this.

1) Enigne RPMs are too low. but, since you already played with the throttle, this probably isn't the case. RPMs should be about 3600 though.

2) The voltage regulator / capacitor has high ESR (resistance) or is bad altogether. Replace.

I plug a 1/2hp drill and use it I notice if I use anything else it is low of power. I put a meter on one plug and drill on other, and it reads upper 80-95 volts with drill running

Please check the owners manual.and see if the 6250W is surge power or steady state...it is not unusual..for this to occur...possibly the generator needs to be adjusted ( sped up slightly )..do not let the 120 volts output exceed 126 volts...

Generator output

Hi, You don't say whether this is under load or not but if not is within the acceptable range, which is +/- 10% . Generally speaking, voltage on a generator is not the issue but the load which it will carry, hence their wattage ratings. Measure your household voltage and you will see that it varies from day to day but usually stays within the limits and your electrical panel is rated in amperage. Hope this answers your question!
