Jenn Air bottom freezer ice maker making noise. Whent the freezer door is shut, you can hear the ice maker trying to make ice but no ice is being made. When you open the door, the noise stops, sounds like a vibrating noise. There appears to be a little ice in the maker but can't determine exactly what is causing the noise. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: Regrigerator stopped, now freezer too.

It is due to the defrost timer is not working. Once it is replaced, you should be good for another year. The information is given by the repairman. I have this replaced two days ago. The MayTag part number is: 61005988.

SOURCE: Water dispenser inside fridge and ice maker in freezer part in bottom both quit working.

There can be many reasons for no water supply. Line feeding the refrigerator is clogged or blocked. The water control valve that turns water to ice maker and dispenser is defective or the water filter located inside your refrigerator is in need of change. I will be here to help you go through the steps. Let me know when you are ready, Thanks, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: buzzing/humming noise with jenn-air bottom freezer

i have this problem too on my GE Profile. A youtube video seems to suggest a compressor problem. Turn off the fridge for a while and let it cool down and try again? I tried but to no avail. Would someone answer this? Please :)

Kenmore refrigerator making high pitch noise top front

could be the ice maker or the evaporator fan motor.you can try lifting the arm up on the ice maker and see if it stops, this will shut off the ice maker.also when you open the freezer door to lift the arm on the ice maker the evap fan motor should start when you open the door, you should hear it blowing around,is this the noise you hear?these are the two things i can think of that could make a noise up top,if not it could be the compressor or the condenser fan motor but these are down the bottom back of machine but still could be the problem,if the ice maker and evap fan motor both in the freezer are ok pull out the machine and remove the bottom back panel and check to see if the noise is coming from there where the condenser fan motor and compressor are, you're going to have to do some detective work to find the noise, hope this helps you out.

Our jenn-air side by side refrigerator with ice-maker has a problem. Quite often it makes a buzzing sound which seems to be more frequent than is normal. There is water inside the freezer which solidifies...

Good day,
You'll need to isolate the problem. Shut the water off to the machine to eliminate the ice maker as an issue. Clean up any mess left over and restart the machine with the ice maker set to the off position.
Run for a few days to test the quality of the cooling capacity of the machine. If it tests O.K. then the ice maker situation can be addressed.

Doesn't make ice cubes. Water doesn't come in.

Hello it sounds like the timer on the ice maker may be the cause. If you open the freezer when the fan is off raise and lower the arm on the ice full shut off. listen for a faint clicking noise you wont hear if fan is going. If it does not click the problem is going to be in the actual switch. I have repaired several with this same problem with the switch but you would probably rather invest in a new ice maker or either buy some trays. As the ice makers can cost up to 200 dollars in some models. The only other thing to check is if the water line is bent or crimped off.

Jenn-Air bottom freezer ice maker not working

I took the arm of the ice-making machine out of the slot and put it back in, pushing it snugly inside the slot, then raised and lowered it several times. Then, with the arm in the up (stop making ice) position, I felt inside the ice-making tray, where I noted there were ice cubes as well as a sheet of ice at the base of the ice-making tray. I poured approximately 24 oz. of hot tap water into the tray to melt the sheet of ice. I turned the freezer temp control to "warmer". I think the freezer temp setting was too cold, causing the ice maker to freeze the water before it could make cubes. I have a working ice maker again!

Jenn-air ice maker, stand alone unit, will not shut off, keeps producting ice.

There should be a sensor inside the ice maker bin that tells the ice maker when its full. It may be a wire or an arm on top of the ice. If you accidentally knocked that off the ice maker won't know when the bin is full and just keeps making ice

Excessive and annoying noise right from the start

its possible, one way to tell is simply lift the arm on the ice maker to the off position, if it s off it will stop rotating and you can rule that out as the reason, if indeed that is the case you can replace the entire ice maker assy, its only held on by 3 screws and a wire harness. easy repair if needed

Ice Maker Making Noise

I was able to solve this problem by doing the following:

1) Carefully (because there may be sharp metal blades in this area) reached into the upper left compartment of the icemaker and pressed down on ice cubes that seemed to be lodged there and were protruding slightly above the slots they should have been passing through.

2) Press down on the cubes, forcing them through the slots and into the cube container below

3) Lift the metal arm, remove and completely empty the ice cube container

4) Return the ice cube container to the freezer, making sure it is seated properly

Close the freezer and wait until the ice cube maker begins to make new ice cubes. The sound should stop in around 10-15minutes.
