Got message DREGDRAWER FULL, therefore I opened the front cover to empty the coffee grounds drawer (but I turned the machine off before), guess what when I have inserted the container back the message was still on. After reading and reading I found out that I should have left the machine on. Now I guess I have disabled the coffee dispensing function. After looking at the machine closely, I noticed a little slot behind next to the coffee grounds drawer, What I did is just push on it with a small screw driver and it would bring it back to normal state, but when I pull the screw driver out I saw a little white plastic thing fell in the bottom and now the unit says DREGDRAWER MISSING (**** now what). I tried many different things but no luck, my machine does not want to work again. What I did to temporarily fix the machine is to stick a little plastic plug in the slot, the message disappeared and got to get the espresso back working. My question is do you know what exactly happened? Can I damage the machine if I leave the plug to make the coffee machine work again? Do not know how to get the white “thing” back to its place. What a awful way of Gaggia to disable the machine if the drawer is emptied while the machine is off.
thanks

I cannot remove the dredgdrawer! The is a little piece of plastic at the back of it attached to the "central unit" that is stopping it from releasing.
Any ideas please?

this happens when the machine has not finished its cycle, if you close the door, and let it finish, the plastic will go back up, try turning it off and then back on, it should do it then
if this fails to work, remove the brew unit with the dregdrawer and insert the same way with the plastic in the waste coffee bean holder
