Ok 7 red blinking led, remove the back cover of the TV. Looking at the power supply in the upper left of power supply. If everything is working fine you will see a solid green led if there is an error, you will see this light blinking also. Right below this led on the power board you will see a list of numbers 1-13 this will give u the problems that this led flashing problems are. More and likely u will have a problem with VSET or VSCAN. Which is connected to the Y-Main and Y-buffers,( the board that is too the left of the power supply if u look on the small print on this board you will see that it reads. 42HDV4 Ymain and the 2 small boards connected to it are Y buffers. To be sure that this board is bad if the TV keeps going into error protection. unplug the power supply and wait for the led to stop flashing. Disconnect the cable that plugs into Y-Main from the Power Supply. It should stay running. If u remove this board and look underneath u should be able to see where this board is getting hot. Easiest fix is to order a replacement. Y-main assembly.

SOURCE: 42 tv issue

The part number you gave, 932222538682 is a pdp (Plasma Display Panel), and that's just the display panel of a Philips 42" Plasma Tv., which by the way has been substituted to Philips p/n# 932222695682 and is the most expensive part of the Tv- worth about $1800.00 dollars. Unless you have some grand design to be the first on your block to own the most expensive heath kit in the world I'd suggest you return it and spend your money more wisely on a unit already assembled..

SOURCE: 42" Philips plasma screen goes black

You have a Ysus problem. Sounds like a cold solder joint or loss connections on ysus main board.

You can fix this yourself with a software upgrade - get the upgrade from Philips website - go to www.usasupport.philips.com, enter your model number, click on the verison of your model ending in /37, and click on "Software & Drivers"; click on the link that says "Firmware Upgrade - Software". Instructions are on the same page - make sure you only transfer the .upg file, not the entire zip file to a portable memory stick.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Philips 42" Flat Screen Plasma - blinking red light 7 times - HELP please!

I had the same issue with 2 of these sets. It ended up being 2 capacitors were bad on the power supply. They are located towards the bottom of the board, you can visually see they were buldging and leaking slightly. I replaced them with 2 I salvaged out of an old computer (of same values) and the tv works as it did before.

I have a philips 42PF9641D/10 and the ambilight on the left side will not come on (lcd tv) any ideas? On turning on the TV both ambilights came on then the left side went off after about a minute!

probably you got a processing unit problem, which makes your tv stopping recognizing the screen information .
you should try resetting all factory default settings, if this doesn't work, you will have to take the TV to an assistance center .

Phillips ambilight 50 in red light problem

I had this problem on a 42" Philips Ambilight. After reading in another forum, opened up the back, and found 2 leaking capacitors on the center circuit board (main power supply pc board) toward the bottom. Tops of the capacitors were bludged out (10v 3300uF) and leaking electrolytes. Unsoldered the old ones myself, went to Radio Shack. They were out, so order 12 on ebay for $6.63 including shipping. Resoldered and works fine. Can't do it yourself? Take the board out (just unhook the cables & unscrew it ), and take it to a computer shop or tv repair or someone who knows how to solder, and have them change them. Piece of cake!

Got 2 faint white lines on screen on philips 42 lcd ambilight

Sounds like plasma burn in. I'm fairly positive this TV has a white out burn in removal in the menu somewhere. Look for it. It should be a program that makes colored static all over the screen or a white scrolling bar followed by black fading into white again. Run it for an hour or so. If that doesn't fix it, there's not much else you can do.
