It doesn't, only because the slider doesn't only not move,
It won't move to print either.
    But the belt does.
    Faster than it should too.
    Help?

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

I hope this helps.

Please check the encoder strip (just above the black belt there is a transparent strip; this strip is called the Encoder strip - about 2cm in width) and make sure it's properly seated and not loose from its position. However, if the encoder strip is loose and you're having difficulty getting it back into the slot, I would highly recommend that you contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance.

Printer can not print Error Number 5200

To solve your problem follow the instruction step by step. Start with printer powered off
1. Open cover of printer and verify that the ink cartridge carriage is not in the center of the printer. Leave cover open.
2. Unplug the electrical cord from the printer and wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug electrical cord back in, when ink cartridge carriage moves to the center of the printer quickly unplug the electrical cord again. This should leave the ink cartridge carriage in the center of the printer so you can get to it.
4. Lift up the gray arm that surrounds the ink cartridges.
5. Remove the entire ink cartridge holder (not just the ink cartridges). It will lift out easily as a unit. Lower the gray arm that you lifted to remove the cartridge holder.
6. Close printer cover. Plug electricity back in.
7. There should be a message about checking the ink cartridge on the display . Thanks

Try reseating the ink cartridge. Maybe, the cartridge is not seated properly.

Here are the simple steps:

1. Lift the control panel by holding the panel along the top edge.
2. Pull the control panel forward.
3. Lift the ink cartridge access door. for better access, stow the document input tray away. the carriage will move to the center.
4. Then, try reseating the cartridge. Hold the ink cartridge by the black
areas or colored top only.

Good luck,
