you can change the settings for the keyboard by going into the following menu: Settings>Locale and Text and then press on the "Select Input method" and then deselect swype as your keyboard.
1. Go into texting/messaging app or anything that brings up the keyboard
2. Hold down on where the text shows up when you are typing
3. An option comes up saying Swype Keyboard, Samsung Keyboard and a few others.
4. Just click the Samsung Keyboard or another one and the Swype function goes away.
Assuming you already have Swype installed, you need to activate it first by going to Menu -> Settings, Language & Keyboard, then putting a check mark next to Swype (you will get a warning which you can disregard). Then go to a text field and long press the empty area (for example, long-press in the field where you would type in a SMS message), then hit Input Method. You should see a menu pop up, simply click Swype and you should be ready to go.
