Picture loss with standby lite flashing

The picture goes black and the standby lite flashes on and off for a minute or two then the picture comes back for a while then repeats this again and again and again..........

If the standby light is flashing 4 times it indicates the TV is overheating because one of the 4 internal fans has totally failed or is not spinning fast enough. The fans start at about $35 and cost up to $65. Replacing 2 of the fans is quite easy. The other 2 require much more disassembly of the TV. I would suggest obtaining the service manual (not the owners manual) before trying to replace any of them.

I had the same problem. i opened the back of the tv panel, the bottom part only, and i saw 2 fans. both of them were very dusty. best thing to do is take a dust blower and clean the fan. if that doesnt work than u have some a problem and u will need to see a repairman. but look for any burned wires from the agu board if you are good with working with complex parts.

Standby/timer flashes and screen goes black

How many times do this standby light flashes at one time switch ON? Count it. These flashes are fault indications. That sounds like what happens when a TV gets firmware updates, but there's usually a message.

Hi. My sony KDF-E50A10 will turn on for about 30 seconds, then the picture and sound go off, the standby/power light flashes 49 times green and the set turns back on. After 30 seconds, the same thing...

tv works for about 2 minutes, then shuts itself off. the red standby light flashes 50 times, then the tv. comes back on for approximetly 2 minutes then goes off again, only to repeat again
