How do you put factory settings on a tomtom gps

Take it back to the dealer for a replacement its faulty

Touch the navigation screen to view the MENU ... select CHANGE PREFERENCES / SETTING ... and look for an icon for "FACTORY RESET".
I'm assuming you wish to do this because all the (previous) info and settings (e.g. HOME location, etc.) is not what you want; the reset will remove all those user settings.

Tap "Reset factory settings" button to restore the factory settings to your TomTom XL. All your settings, including Favourites, your Home location, warnings for POIs and any Itineraries you have created are deleted.


Tap "Set Clock" button to select the type of clock that is shown and set the time.

I, mine gps do not succeed to load with the cable with feeding in the car I am in montreal and I do not succeed to find an attendance center tom tom you can give to information thanks

I had this problem (waiting for a valid GPS signal). I did a factory reset and the unit started working again (yes, I lost all my settings, but what good is a GPS unit that just sits there waiting for a valid GPS signal?). To do a factory reset, go to menu -> change preferences -> Reset factory settings.

You need to be more specific, ie what GPS device do you have?

if it is a tomtom there is a small reset button on the back which you will need an unbent paperclip to press. Otherwise if you visit their website there is a patch you can download which will reflash your tomtom back to factory settings.
