No sound but speakers work

If you have good speakers but no sound from your computer then several checks need to be made. One is did you plug the speaker cable into the correct connector? Volume all the way up I can barley hear it

Check its speaker first. Connect an other known good speaker, after disconnecting the wires to the speaker inside, and connect it to external ones, and switch ON the set, and check whether there is good sound with external speaker/s. If OK, make sure that the internal speaker has damaged, and should be replaced. If there is distorted sound with external speakers too, check and replace damaged component/s at its audio output stage circuit. I have a picture but no sound on my 19in Vizio What can I check?

At first, you have to check its speaker. Check whether the sound is muted or not. Do not apear the speakers icon

To Display The Volume IconBy default, the Volume icon is not displayed when you initially install Windows XP on your system.

To enable the display of the Volume icon, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
  3. Click Show volume control on the taskbar.
  4. Click OK.
When you have the new desktop features of Windows XP enabled, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Sounds, click Speech, and then click Audio Devices.
  3. Click Sounds, and then click Audio Devices.
  4. Click Show volume control on the taskbar.
  5. Click OK.

How to hook-up speakers to xp7

Here is the solution for you.Please follow the below steps and fix your problem.

1 . Click on the "Start" globe or button and then the "Control Panel" label. The Control Panel main screen will display on your monitor. Click on the "Hardware and Sound" link.

2 . Click the "Manage Audio Devices" link in the "Sound" section on the Control Panel screen. The "Sound" configuration window will then open.

3 . Click the "Speakers" label under the "Playback" tab. Click the "Configure" button to open the "Speaker Setup" configuration window and select the "Stereo" option. Click the "Next" button.

4 . Enable the "Front Left and Right" option box by clicking the check box. Once the check mark appears in the box, click both small speaker icons to test the sound from the speakers. You should hear sound from the two right speakers when you click the speaker icon labeled "R," and the two speakers on the left should produce sound when you click the icon labeled "L."

5 . Click the "Next" button and then the "Finish" button to complete the speaker setup.

6 . Adjust the volume by clicking on the speaker icon near the time and date area in the task bar. Use the slider control to adjust the volume to the desired level.

The Yamaha Reciever RX-V465 is connected to my digital TV by fibre optic cabel. I have sound when I connect my MP3 to the V-Aux and the speakers are displayed on the display window of the Reciever same as...

Please check your TV settings and the optical cable.
The speaker icons disapper from LCD display when the receiver does not detect any input signal throught the optical/coax/hdmi cable.
