I have a Stihl MS 180 c chainsaw 2012 need to see where the coil wires run to on both sides where they connect please help thank you

The long switch spring touches the black wire when in the off position. Follow the spring towards the tank. It has a tab (spade) for the yellow wire female spade connector.

Can't get attachments to work... try following link for a pic of the switch.

Why does my Stihl FS220 have 2 thin wires to the coil? I noticed one was disconnected while replacing the piston, I fitted it in to the gap in the spade terminal going onto the coil, now no spark.

One wire is ignition module kill (primary of a magneto) and the other is ignition module frame (engine block).

The two wires run separate to the kill switch which is a momentary single pole.

I can't figure out how to re-attach the throttle wire to the carburetor and handle on my husqvarna 235 chainsaw

To re assemble the carb, connect the throttle wire into the r/h side of the carb, there is a small hole in the throttle spindle, thread the wire into the spindle from the out side and twist so it stays in the spindle, you must do this with the carb off the saw, now push the carb with the wire connected back onto the two studs from the cylinder, refit the black air filter box, fit and tighten the two 8mm nuts, re fit the torx 20 screw into the top of the filter box, re fit the orange plastic plate on the r/h side of the crankcase, now re fit the the back handle and spine assembly, fit the three torx screws back through the anti vib springs and into the crankcase, if not already done remove the three screws securing the l/h side rear handle half, hook the other end of the throttle rod into the trigger, refit the handle half.

I took worm gear off old saw same kind and the wire connected to gear i need to know if it clips on something to stay solid if so i have something broke

Most Stihl machines have an outboard sprocket, so to drive the oil pump gear there is a wire that simply sits into a small cut a way in the edge of the sprocket, just be careful when you re fit the sprocket that the cut a way lines up with the wire.

I have a Stihl 025 that I can't seem to start. The two things I have noticed after I took things apart is that there is a grey wire that is not attached to anything, and dosen't seem to have anywhere

Jon try check the wires coming from the ignition coil to the on/off switch. one is a ground and the other goes into the coil. When they are connected the coil is turn off and will not spark.

Green wire came off while changing plug on 345

The 345 only has two wires in that area, not sure either of them were green, however there is an earth cut out wire and an earth return wire, the earth return fits onto the spade conection jut above the cut out red switch, the other wire pushes into the side of the red plastic switch, there is a moulded section in the plastic that the terminal just slides into.

How do you fix a broken stop switch on a 455 rancher

The stop switch is just a red plastic rocker that connects the earth cut out wire from the ignition unit, to a grouding wire to cut the ignition,it can be changed on the machine, however it is much easier to remove the air filter housing, start by removing the screws, two at the top and two at the bottom, disconnect the earth wire and the earth return wire, the upper wire has a spade conection onto the earthing strip, the lower wire also has a spade conection but just pushes into the red ignition rocker switch, unhook the choke from the carb, once the housing is removed gently pry out the blue choke pull from the housing, once removed pry off the broken rocker switch, this is sprung loaded via the earthing strip, pay close attention to how this is fitted, so as you know where to re fit if ( take a photo with a mobile phone to help with re instalation )now fit the new rocker switch, re install the earthing strip, re fit the choke pull, re assemble the air filter housing onto the back of the carb, re connect the wires.

I have a BG55 Stihl. I am replacing the coil. There are two blk wires w/female connectors. One attaches to the coil. Where does the other go?

It is most likley an earth return wire, it will fit either under one of the ignition unit screws, or there will have been a male spade connector under one of the screws for it to connect to.

PCB replacement

it seems that you are talking about the two wires that fit onto the back of the board where there is a black component that is square on the right hand side when looking from the front the wires fit within the black unit. i cannot remember which way around though. i will post again when i next do a wma repair ,tony.
