Question about RTO THERMAL DYNAMICS CUTMASTER 52 PLASMA CUTTER 1-5130- 1
Check the switch. It sounds like it has seen better days. Also check the wires on the back of the switch to see if they are shorting out. The problem is at the switch area. Good luck.

SOURCE: plazma cutter/no arc
The Cutmaster 50 used two different CD "Capacitor Discharge" Boards. The only ones I have seen a lot of issues with were the smaller ones that are 3.5" X 4"
I have worked on several of the them over the last few months. Even though you might see a spark at the spark gap on the board it might not be sufficient to create a pilot arc.
If your air pressure and so forth are correct your issue is most likely the two white capacitors on the CD board.

SOURCE: problem with battery connection
look inside where the battery and you should see two terminals under them you should see two battery pads, if there worn or damaged they may cause the problem you are having. They may need to be replaced. Good luck!

Try cleaning the contacts on the battery and on the gun where the battery rests. Use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. Sometimes the contacts get a little build up on them and it doesn't get enough contact to give you all your voltage.
