My ps3 says corrupted data and cannot save anything.How do I re-set it?

Unfortunately, if you did a full system restore without backing up your data, it's gone. Sorry, man. However, if you sign into your PSN account, you'll still have your trophies. I know it's not much. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

all you have to do is pull out the plug and then when u turn it on it wud say that the system did not take of properly and u just press ok. after that u just go to system settings and chose format data.it says that it will delete data but it wont by just pressing your hand on the eject button. it will then delete all the corrupt data and u will still have your tropies and saved data.it shud then read disc and stop freezing.

It sound like you may just need to do a full format of the hard drive do to the corrupted data that is still on the drive. The link below will help you do this.

Sorry to say but you'll have to start all over. Corrupted data usually can't be brought back.

It's possible that you're turning off the ps3 while it's saving, corrupting the save data.
Make sure when you turn off the ps3 it's not in the process of saving.
Try the above and if you still have no luck it's possible there's an issue with your ps3's hard drive, have you had any problems with any other games?

Also, if the problem persists, try deleting the MW2 gamedata, located under gamedata on the ps3's menu.

You have corrupt data and must restore ps3 to factory settings. Back up save data on usb stick or external hard drive.

I had kinda the same problem, but my ps3 was able to get to the home screen. I never tried the problem out on a ps2 game, but when I put anything BlueRay into the system, I would also get that blank, blue AV screen. Because I was able to access my home screen, I looked around and found that I had corrupted data on my system. Now, I'm not sure how to get you back to your home screen, but if you're ever able to, the only solution that I found was to wipe the hard drive of the corrupted data, by going to the Game option on the home screen, then scrolling down to either Game Data Utility or Saved Data Utility. That's where you'll find it. Unfortunately, this will mean you'll have to wipe your entire hard drive of all your saved data.

I know it sucks, but I hope this helps...

so i had the same prob all u got to do is delete your data it will only delete the si9ngle player data cuz multiplayer data is saved on ur psn account your welcome if you dont know how to delete it goto games>saved data utility>cod5>(triangle)>delete if you want to say thanks my psn name is kakashi1012

just erase all the existing previous data since its already corrupted.there is no choice but to start a new game.at least you already memorise the past game that you have saved.hope this one helps
