Sir what do you mean about cant enter camera socket? are you using usb cable? if your camera used previously with your computer and it has no problem then the reason is your cable. it must be the pin of the end of your wire got disalign. if that's not the problem then reinstall the driver camed with your camera to your pc so that it will be recognizable once again. you can transfer your pictures by using your usb cable. it also included on the box of your camera which you have both.

Where can I obtain a driver for Caplio R5 Camera Windows 7

You don't need a driver. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I borrowed a Caplio R5 camera, have taken some super pics, but couldn't download onto computer. So took the memory stick to Boots and their developer couldn't find the photos. Put the memory stick...

The Photo's are currently stored on the cameras internal memory, you'll need to transfer them to the card using the camera's menu options.

Failing that, plug the camera into your PC and switch on, a box should appear asking you which programme would you like to access the new device with.

Select the folder option, then click on and open any folders therein, one will be the camera memory the other the card memory.

Hi

The fact that the lines started appearing when you deleted images from the Ricoh Caplio R5 is probably coincidental.

It sound as if the problem is a faulty image sensor (sometimes incorrectly called the CCD or CMOS sensor, depending on what type).

If it's under warranty, contact Ricoh and have them repair it.
