MY HOOVER 199W JUST STOPPED WORKING.............I'VE CHECKED THE FUSE AND EMPTIED THE DUST....STILL NOT WORKING...ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE THANKS Veronica

It could be a thermal breaker that goes automatic if the filter is full of fine-dust and the rpm of the motor becomes to high and the heat dissipation will acces the thermo breaker replace dust back AND filter, second there could be if the brushes are become to short the autostop can be activated (you see a little dark pin with micro spring in the brush ) in one of the 2 carbon brushes. if so replace the carbon brushes .
A Switch or cable defect (measure it)

Dc25 animal brush is not spinning, belt is ok,and thers no strainge noises or smells from it.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to hear about this issue with your DC25 brush bar. Assuming you have already tried cleaning the brush of any obstructions, following the instructions below may resolve the issue:

1) Plug your machine into the power outlet
2) Locate the grey brush bar button next to your power button
3) With the machine turned off, press and hold the brush button down for 10 seconds
4) Release the grey brush button, step on the foot pedal to recline the machine
5) Press the power button to power on the machine
6) Check to see if the brush rotates

If you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please contact our US Dyson Helpline toll-free at 1-(866) 693-9766 or our UK support colleagues at 0800 298 0298. Thank you very much for your time.

Sebo brush staying down

Sounds like the controller microchip has become disconnected. You'll need to flip the SEBO over on its side and remove the floor head - to do this, kneel on the floor and press the release button below the main front bin to unlock the floor head from the main bin area. Putting one knee on the floor head might help as the lock might be still. This pulls the floor head apart from the main bin and user handle. Once unlocked, flip the head over and undo the 4 large screws (2 at the back and 2 near the front on either side) Once the floor head has become loose, ease it off slowly and you should see the microchip board. With the bumper in front of you look to your right hand side to check that the microchip thread has not been pulled out. Check that all points are pushed in correctly 0- you should download a parts and manual diagram from SEBO UK or SEBO Germany (Sebo.de) in English. This will show you the microchip board and the microchip connectors. Once checked, reverse process, fit screws back on with the floor head cover underneath and re assemble before switching back on. Hope it helps!

I have a roomba 551. Have cleaned and removed every bit of dirt and hair off it bu the brush cage won't close when the larger bush is put in. The cage will only click locked on one side, and the other...

Hi, had the same problem, it was like the main brush no longer fit into it's slot, so the brush cage would not latch. I discovered that the yellow bearing tip on the main brush twists off, and inside I found a lot of hair twisted around the pin. There was so much hair that it had forced the bearing tip to unscrew, making the brush too long to fit in the slot. After I pulled out the hair, the bearing screwed back on perfectly, and it works great now.

Brush will not turn

The most common problem is the handle isn't screwed in tight enough when the machine was assembled. Try tightening it down all the was and the electrical connections will then seat properly.

When I put the vacuum in position to use on rugs, it makes a horrible grinding noise like something is stuck.

Hi If the Dyson model you have has a protected brush model (i.e. roller wheel at the side that goes up automatically to turn off the brush roll) then the belt will have to be replaced by a Dyson engineer. If its not that model and doesn't have the brush roll stop function, check that the roller beater bar and the brush are properly aligned, also checking the main dust channel isn't clogged.

Meile SEB 213 powerbrush cuts out

Your problem is either in the wand, assuming you have the telescopic dark grey electric wand. The only other thing it could be is the hose, once again, assuming you have the electric hose with either the rocker switch that shuts down the power brush, or the deluxe hose, with the electronic suction control, as well as the brush shut off. Miele wands and hoses are notorious for causing power brushes to cut off. If your Miele is under two years old, I would suggest taking it to a autherized Miele service center, and see what, if any, warranty you have left, and have it checked out. Let me know how you make out.

Bissell Shampooer, The brushes will not stay up so can,t push it.

Did this start happening after you removed the clear side pieces, to clean around the brushes? You may have loosened or removed the black plastic arms that hold the brushes in place off the floor. One goes on each side, and is mounted to the Bissell with a silver screw with a built in washer. The brushes fit inside these two arms, and they are also held in position by the black belts. The big one goes around both brushes on the left side as I face the machine. The small one goes around the back brush and a small cog on the right side, as I face the Bissell.

Brushes won't turn remain motionless as if cleaning hard floors even though button depressed could it be a problem with the brushes or button still under guarantee

There is a re-set button located on the brush head on the left side as viewed if you are standing directly behind the vacuum cleaner. It is black in color and is recessed slightly into the cover of the brush cover. It is round and about the size of the head of a country match and sticks up about 1/2 inch. Just press it to reset. Also, don't forget to press the grey on-off brush switch located beside the red on-off which is located near the top of the handle. Hope this information solves your problem. [email protected]
